Perhaps you had a reason to believe that he would be active but I still feel you put too matter of factly. I would say at the very least you should try to watch what you say a bit better.@ seeming scummy, as Fircoal put it, I always seem to come off scummy. It happens in damn near every game and i guess its just how people view my posts.
With TSL case, Most forums/Game that I do online, each mod is on everyday atleast to just say "Busy reply later" Or some such. That and too many people were willing to let TSL off the hook when he Could have been scumarining.
I'll just be honest here...I have a hard time reading Fircoal to the point where I often unfairly accuse him of being scum...mostly because even as town he varies from almost completely apathetic to overeager especially on day 1. I kind of see his behavior as a bit different then what I've noticed in the past but there is enough variation in his play style that the case itself is too weak for me to jump behind. And strike you do have to admit that in all games that fir is in, He has his usual way of acting and posting. Any variance from that is something to consider.

I would definitely say yes if this was D1 but this D2 so I would think usual scum-hunting techqunies would come into play - but with no deadline there is no hurry to get a lynch. I have no knowledge of Futurama so I won't be contributing much (without help from wikipedia)AndyDufresne wrote:Is it worthwhile to have a discussion on what we think would be probable characters involved in this game? And yet when Gilligan voted for Sax after supposedly missing Haggis' post, you were all for the speed lynch of Gilligan D1:Strike wrote:While I do agree that at this point a lynch needs to be reached, at the point in the day this happened it was no longer realistic and a rushed lynch with that little time left would have quite likely been worse. Most likely lynched town with probable power role dying and with how quick it would have had to have been there wouldn't me much to gather from the lynch itself. Naxus here doesn't even suggest who we should lynch it just seems like he wants to suggest that we do lynch someone without directly connecting himself to making the decision on the quick lynch.
So what I've seen from Strike is he wants to speed lynch Gilligan, which he later condemns because naxus wanted a lynch on saxlad. Not only that, but he teams up drunkmonkey in his vote against Gilligan.Strike wrote:QFBFT

It's possible, but last Safari game he specifically posted scenes to indicate cult activity, I would say it's somewhat unlikely, besides the only way to hurt "shklim" was an extremely specific intervention from the league of robots (which could also possibly be the shadowy group based on Bender's interpretation).kwanton wrote:1000 backs.
He attached his tentacles or whatever to people's necks and controlled them. It just fits cult too perfectly.
What else were you looking for 10 hours from the deadline?strike wolf wrote:I thought everyone knew I was a hypocrit?![]()
No really. I never really actually expected him to be a lynch but I made a stand on who I thougght should be pressured. Should I have voted him? I think so. Should he have been speed lynched? No. Naxus made a blanket statement 5 1/2 hrs. Later saying someone needs to be lynched.
Pressure. Something. Anything. With 10 hours left (I think it would have been less if Safari got on at the rough deadline) I didn't realistically think he should or would be lynched but I'm not adverse to putting pressure on him. I would hope you would see the difference between pressuring a bit with 10 hours left and telling everyone a lynch needed to be reached with under 5 hours left.TA1LGUNN3R wrote:What else were you looking for 10 hours from the deadline?strike wolf wrote:I thought everyone knew I was a hypocrit?![]()

And then I go silent a few more days, but you can blame my job for that.
True, I could have put more effort on Gilli's case. However, I had nothing more to add than what has been said on day 1, and as pointed, I still beleive he's quite lucky that everyone let him loose so easily. If people are going to let him loose, while I have nothing to add, I would feel Rodion-ish to re-present the case with the same arguments and holding on to what everyone beleive is a dead case.
I am still re-reading a bit, on all my games actually, once the week-end arrive I'll take 2-3 hours and get back on touch with everything.
Unvote for the time beeing.

I can vouch for Sax, I know he's town. I really hope you guys don't force me to say more, a simple investigation on one of us should suffice.

Obviously I'm ready to not vote sax. If someone is lurking and doesn't follow up with anything (I will admit I am guilty of this, but I was on vacation gimme a break) I normally have no issue lynching that person.
Had I seen what Haggis said, I would have never said that. The best I can say at this point is have a cop check me, but you don't want to lynch me.
I would accept this as an excuse but we get a case of deja vu which smells a little fishy if you ask me.Gilligan wrote:My apologizes. I'll be much more active from now on now that I don't have a week to catch up on. To be honest, though, I fully read at least 95%.

I also couldn't think of any characters from the show where gilligan would know TSL's alignment without a doubt. I have reason to believe it is not a kif/amy lover scenario but I won't give more details than that. Fry/Leela couldn't really be considered lovers in the show so that doesn't make sense either. Some kind of nibblonian masonry would be possible especially with nibbler in the game, but its unlikely unless the brains are the big bad group here. Hermes/his wife are too minor of a couple really.
If you think through all the main characters from the show none of them really make sense as knowing each other's alignmnt. Of course this is just speculation and honestly, the flavor in the scene implies hes telling the truth. No real concrete suspicion here besides just having a bad feeling about it. However, tsl and gilli are not completely off the hook yet either.

Either way your overall answer seems fair enough and i'll agree with kwan and PCM here and unvote
@kwan: I'm not sure the flavor fits a cult...I don't want to be too early to say this but in general metagaming the mod here, Safari likes to announce when there is a cult in his games. The second option, I think just leads to a game that is way too quick paced for those sized mafia groups especially if there is a vig but the flavor would fit (scammers as one group, Mom or brains as another group and Santa Claws confirmed SK). I'll again assume you meant to say haggis not gilligan but it almost sounds like you think he could be a mafia PGO. Considering the nature of the PGO role, I think that it would be overpowered on a mafia. I wouldn't underestimate the ability for Kif and Amy to be lovers they were the most straightforward and prevalent couple in the series (you could argue Fry and Leela but that's hardly a straight forward relationship...unless the alternate universe is involved but I think the game is too small for that to be possible). I also wouldn't underestimate Zap Branigan and Kif as masons...they were to Kif's chagrin practically inseparable in the show.
kwanton confirms he meant Haggis. This is the 2nd case of skimming from Gilligan and I won't let it slide easily. In further addition, I think its curious he doesn't ask for a doc protection as he is suppposed to be a power role who we will beneficial later in the game.kwanton wrote:yes, yes. Too many things on my plate and I easily confuse names....
I think that if someone has enough knowledge of flavor then speculating on what possible characters would be in the game is a very good thing to do, as long as it remains speculation and not actually revealing info in a PM.
Also, our mod specifically said this game encompasses all seasons and that the movies are included in that. There's no reason for him to say that unless someone or something specific and unique to the movies was in this game. So what does that give us?
YIVO cult
Scammers- mafia
My memory is fuzzy on the movie Bender's Game. The big bad in that is mom's group tho I can't remember if there was anyone else.
Then the two animals from the fourth movie (one good one bad)
Again I'm picking out major characters that were NEW in the movies and unique to them. Our mod's language in his responses leads me to believe thats the case.
I know D1 normally ends no lynch or mislynch but you're saying that doen't matter! By defense, I meant "why we shouldn't lynch you".
As far as why you should keep me, I'll chalk it up to a better late-game role.
