Dude how can you talk about politics and government telling people to leave when a large storm is going to hit the East Coast and some people can lose their live. Specially if they don't heed concerns of public officials to leave. It not just about you and your property its about you life. There are police and firemen who have to stay behind to watch and if they have to rescue you because you decided to stay behind then shame on you, but what would you know about hurricanes. O yeah you don't know shit.Phatscotty wrote:As we all know the administration is going to milk the shit out of this storm and is already highly publicizing their positioning of themselves in front of the destruction. With an approval rating of 37% (Bush would be proud) the president really needs this to be a tragedy if he wants all this media posturing to pay off. If it's a weak storm, it will be a total loss politically.
EXCUSE ME. YOU DO NOT GET TO TALK TO ME LIKE THAT, AOG.Army of GOD wrote:All love you make is "quick" saxi.

Well, it's not like this is the first Hurricane to ever hit. If people are going to leave then they're gonna leave. If they are going to stay, they are going to stay. They can base their decision on what the media or the government tells them, but so long as it is a decision people remain free.Nola_Lifer wrote:Dude how can you talk about politics and government telling people to leave when a large storm is going to hit the East Coast and some people can lose their live. Yesss Massta! I am leaving right now! Where do I go massta! You gon take care of me massta?oVo wrote:Scotty, you've already proven yourself to be a dumbass or a troll,
so there's no need to add evidence to support that status here.
Are you sure you understand what you are responding to?oVo wrote:You are absolutely right Scotty, you are free to be an idiot

But the subject of this thread is Hurricane Irene
and not exactly how ignorant is Phatscotty?
people who wish to stay in hurricane Irene are free to stay. I am not affected by the storm, but thanks for conceding the point and your concerns for my safety. It's seems the government and the media are making Hurricane Irene their poster child for the forcing of people out of their homes. So far it's mostly been ridicule, but as of right now I have heard the media as well as the president calling people who don't evacuate cowboys, dummies, idiots, etc.
For people who want to stay behind, it's called protecting your property. It's also called Freedom.

The gov't is trying and it should try. That has nothing to do with it.QoH wrote:Scotty, an 11 year old boy was killed today when tree crushed his house. I don't know if that area aS supposed to be evacuated, but his death could have been prevented had they left.
The government is trying to look out for it's people. Besides, what does the government have to gain by making everyone leave their houses?
As far as I've read, mandatory evacuations are not for individual citizen safety but to prevent lawlessness and looting. In NYC all the areas of mandatory evacuation have their evacuation orders coinciding closely with the hour at which police will either be withdrawn or barracked.QoH wrote:The government is trying to look out for it's people. Excuse me? Loonies crying about their freedoms? Would you expect anything else when freedom is lost first hand in real time?????Nola_Lifer wrote:Scotty you always miss the point and all you can see is through your narrowed eyes. Not all people will leave on their own and not all people are able to leave on their own. For the government to respond in a responsable way sometimes it is necessary to force people to leave. This has nothing to do with freedom and everything to do with safety and the ability of the police and other public workers to do their job efficiently. Force is sometimes necessary specially when they have loonies crying for their freedoms when they are about to get hit by a hurricane. Now if you wanna talk about freedoms go start another thread. If not than please waste others time by posting nonsense in a different thread.

As OvO said stop trolling. I never said talked about liberty or security. Its about safety. You sacrifice your liberty every time you get searched at the airport for security reasons. You are asked/forced to leave your home during an evacuation for safety reasons. Learn the differences.Phatscotty wrote:Excuse me? Loonies crying about their freedoms? Those Who Sacrifice Liberty For Security Deserve Neither
That's all. You can disagree, and that's fine. I will live my way and you live yours.
God Bless America.

There have been a great many official mandatory evacuations ordered.Phatscotty wrote:I too have not yet heard of any official mandatory evacuations. I wish I could say the same about people who are calling for mandatory evacuations.
