What shop? You have a family owned shop or what?Bruceswar wrote:Being from Dallas Stevie grew up with lots of people I know.
Dimebag used to shop at our store with vinnie. Punk kids. LOL ..
People are forgetting Billy Gibbins ZZ Top!

You listened to their good stuff then. They've gone sort of mainstream here lately. There music has been watered down with typical high school angst ridden lyrics. They've kind of sold out. The only song of theirs from a recent album that I like is My Sweet Shadow. Other than that, the only stuff of their's that I particularly like is the older stuff. Of the same vein, Dark Tranquillity and Kalmah are still rocking it out though. They haven't really sold out yet like In Flames has.grifftron wrote:I use to be obsessed with In FLames over 10 years ago, haven't listened to them in a while tho
Jimi not Jimmie.PLAYER57832 wrote:Almost anyone.. John Michael Talbot, Jimmie Hendrix, James Taylor, Pete Seager, etc. (yes, I recognize they are not equal in skill...)
John Mayer is a hack. Once he realizes he'll never make it in the blues world he'll go back to pop tunes for 13 year girls and leave the blues to real artists.grifftron wrote:I use to be obsessed with In FLames over 10 years ago, haven't listened to them in a while tho
Any body listen to John Mayer trio band stuff? I know alot think of John as a chick sing love writer, but his trio band is great and John can play a sick guitar
Love Tab! From Houma, LA. When him and Anders Osbourne play together they kill it. Another local boy Snooks Eaglin is a blues master Snooks
I think you're mistaken... the boy can play . . .TA1LGUNN3R wrote:John Mayer is a hack.

You really think so? He is still pretty young and has years to go, I know you can't learn the blues, something that has to be put in you from the day you came flying out of your momma's VJ... but still, I think he can play... and no he will never be a stevie, but maybe he will be a clapton?... clapton has admitted to not being an open stream while playing unlike his hero stevie. prob not but who knows?TA1LGUNN3R wrote:Jimi not Jimmie.PLAYER57832 wrote:Almost anyone.. Yea I had the buddies in school that would run down the hallway saying "Were gonna go see fuc*ing IN FLAMESSSS!!!"... sad to hear they are "selling out" or "sold out" already, but if you want the money and you have kids, understandable... I believe they all have families.tkr4lf wrote:You listened to their good stuff then. They've gone sort of mainstream here lately. If you haven't checked out Kalmah yet, you should. Finnish melodeath, but basically the same(ish) sound of old school In Flames. But with wayyy better guitar work.

Yeah Tab's great. He can't play a bad song. His soul covers are great, too. He plays an awesome version of Cooke's "Bring it on home to me."Nola_Lifer wrote:Love Tab! From Houma, LA. When him and Anders Osbourne play together they kill it. Another local boy Snooks Eaglin is a blues master Snooks

Love Buddy Guy! I've seen him twice now, both times he tore it up. The last time I saw him (about a month ago), he played at a fair with Jimmie Vaughan, and he destroyed Vaughan. He's ten times the showman and player that JV is.Nola_Lifer wrote:Buddy Guy
