holy crap that's impressive. the winner and organiser truly deserve a special medal, not one of these bogus ones that will get awarded to a lot of those who paid for the privilege.HighlanderAttack wrote:16402 played games so farChariot of Fire wrote:It'll be interesting to see how many games HA's 200th Tourney ends up being comprised of. Loser buys winner premium....therefore lost something of value to the winner ($25). This is a BET, not a reward for winning a tourney. It is the same if I challenge someone to a 1 v 1 for $100. Just because the prize is through CC doesn't make it different. It just made it acceptable to Lack, Andy and the other mods who like to moderate to their own whims and not the rules.HighlanderAttack wrote:jbrettlip wrote:Betting is allowed. This is not real gambling. Buying a premium for someone u play against is not real gambling. Trust me--I used to be a real gambler--this anything this site has would never compare.

No, it is just a work around I think using the Tournament Tool so it doesn't interfere with Community-Run Tournaments, the Tournament Page, and Stats.Gillipig wrote:When you search for conquer cup in "find a tournament" it says that conquer cup I is abandoned. And lack's name is crossed over. Is it abandoned?

Yeah, there have been some tough draws, but overall it looks like a fair amount of balance in the games. There were a couple of games without officers, so a few players of Sarge or lower will make it past Round 1.Gillipig wrote: Good!
I think I found the hardest group in the cup! Game 9979916, average score of 2303. That's more than a thousand point per player more than this group for example : Game 9980018.

Likewise. There should be refunds of credits/payment all round.Lindax wrote:I'm very unhappy that the amount of players went from 6 to 5 in the games. I don;t think I would have joined had I known that beforehand. It's a different game now....

I interpret this as a no to your question but if you want to make sure you can try to create some games and see when you're not able to create more games.CC wrote: "Premium Membership isn't necessary - you can still play Conquer Cup games even if you've reached the limit on active games"
Thanks for your reply, I did try to join a new game but I got the upgrate to premium message.Gillipig wrote:gStrong wrote:Quick question, is the Cup game supposed to count as one of my four games? you did not get my point--in reality if a penny was wagered it could be called a bet, but really?jbrettlip wrote:Loser buys winner premium....therefore lost something of value to the winner ($25). Yes, even a penny is a bet. And gambling is prohibited on this site. So you two can play head to head, or buy each other premiums all you want. But as soon as you make a condition of the challenge is winner gets premium from the loser, it is gambling and SHOULD be against the rules. Because it put money in Lack's pocket, he allowed it. Just more bullshit moderating.....HighlanderAttack wrote:you did not get my point--in reality if a penny was wagered it could be called a bet, but really?jbrettlip wrote:Loser buys winner premium....therefore lost something of value to the winner ($25). We could easily prevent it from being usable on maps where it would cause problems. including random. We could even limit it to 4 players or less if 8 players causes problems. Most people would use it for 1v1 only anyway. In a sense it's very much like manual troop deployment. It puts focus on preparation and strategy instead of luck. I'd also like to see the no dice option they have on majorcommand being incorporated into CC. With those two updates we could be playing games where a) dice doesn't matter. b) no unfair drops would occur. c) you can place all of your troops wherever you want. d) turn order doesn't matter (freestyle). In other words ultimate freedom and flexibility in terms of game options. If you lose you can't blame any element of luck for it. You lost because you where not as good as your opponent. And in games with more than 2 players diplomacy and truces would be even more important than it is today. I think that is the way to go for CC. To make this game more about skill and less about luck. Don't remove the luck factor for those that want to use it but give players that have played thousands of games and are tired of losing games because of elements they can't control a chance to hold their own fate. I would gladly pay twice the current premium membership fee if I got to play games like that!TheForgivenOne wrote:It's already been suggested.
