I've un-stickied this topic. When you have solved the above issue I'll change it back again. The Bison King wrote:No it hasn't been yet sadly. I've been postponing writing the letter to George himself but that's the stage we're at.
In the books the Greyjoys and their bannermen (the Iron born) are basically vikings in nature. The Iron Islands are rocky and terrible for growing crops so they used to loot and pillage the surrounding shores for their plunder.$t0kA wrote:this looks very promising, probably the best map in the foundry at the moment, i dont understand the Greyjoy bannermen though. i love the show so i feel the Wall is a big part of it, so yeah maybe think about adding in the wall and the snowy wilderness??
That's exactly correct.$t0kA wrote:just a quick question here, so this is set before the show right? before Robert takes the throne?
I'm going to send you a PM about that.isaiah40 wrote:How's the copyright thingy coming along TBK?
I think that would be very complicated to implement under the current XML, and not add much to the gameplay beyond a very subtle thematic point.hoschke118 wrote: So, say you owned both winterfell and the eyrie, then you would get a +1 bonus for any 2 bannermen from either house. for example if you owned 3 bannermen from each (6 total) then you'd get a +3 bonus, rather than a +2 with your current system. Similar rules for if you owned 3 or 4 main seats.

yeah, I figured. I do like subtle thematic points though, and I think this map really needs some.Evil DIMwit wrote:I think that would be very complicated to implement under the current XML, and not add much to the gameplay beyond a very subtle thematic point.hoschke118 wrote: So, say you owned both winterfell and the eyrie, then you would get a +1 bonus for any 2 bannermen from either house. for example if you owned 3 bannermen from each (6 total) then you'd get a +3 bonus, rather than a +2 with your current system. I've seen that map before. It's absolutely amazing! and yes. It does make me look like a chump, I am aware.RjBeals wrote:not sure if you have seen the amazing westeros map over at cartographersguild. I'll attach a photo of it here. And the link to the thread here: http://www.cartographersguild.com/showt ... an-project
You should register at the guild just to read through the legal issues faced with that map. However, "tear" has created an amazing map, one of my favorites.
Not the intent. Just to give inspiration. The Bison King wrote: It does make me look like a chump, I am aware.

Send him snail mail? The Bison King wrote:Sadly no... apparently George Martin is notoriously bad about responding to emails.
