it needs neither of those two things AT ALL. thats the whole point dude. and it's not a "few" people "hatin" on gen.lee, it's most of the posters here. only his friends, or the players who use the same bullshit tactic that come to his defense. I don't think anyone is a 'hater' - (man that's such a lousy term). People are just playing down the achievements and pointing out that, in their opinion, this is a nothing story. If I could really be bothered, I would do the same, but I can't.

BTW sjnap, I think you're certainly one of the few who thoroughly deserved accolades for your achievements. Done properly with a wide variety of games.

Does it need discipline? Yes. Skills? Not so much. I'm not arguing that it doesn't take a lot of time or commitment to get to Conqueror title, but theoretically, Conqueror should be the best player on the site at the moment. He should achieve that position with integrity and exceptional gameplay - not by abusing the system. As it currently is, the system is somewhat rigged as it really doesn't prevent farming to pretty high extents... And that's my main problem.

I would not classify myself as a hater as I have no reason to envy or hate any of those people. I fully realize that it is hard and I know that for my reasons that one I will never be a conqueror. I truly respect people like Master Fenrir, etc. who raise above others due to their skills and do not try to abuse the system, but rather play well and become conquerors. As Pander already mentioned, I think that you pretty much deserved to be a Conqueror and I really can't say too much bad things about you, but systematical farming that was done here should not be glorified.

this game is meant to be challenging and fun. pretty sad that someone wants to win so much they play weak players with little challenge. in the real world they are called bullies.

If you have a look at the first page his games, you see only wins in private speedgames. I do not think this is a very good way of showing people you're the best, but check out the next couple of pages.
You'll see some officers in the games, and take it from me: some good freestylers. So though he mostly played lower ranks to get to here, he is also capable of beating the best in his own field. Bytheway, you need to know all the tricks too playing the lower ranks, so even those games show he can do it.
The handful of losses I could find I checked, and he seems to simply have gotten significant bad luck there.

All I'm saying: he's got the skills in his field, and as long as the conqueror title indicates such skill, I think achieving the title deserves at least congratulations if not respect.

That doesn't change that I would love to play some speeders against him when he's ready for it ^^

No one gets to Conqueror with completely standard play. I thought that was pretty much agreed upon years ago? Getting conqueror is like a completely separate part of CC. A job you don't get paid for. Well, I hope you don't get paid for it, because I'm never going to be Conqueror

good points. im not saying he is wrong. im saying he is pathetic and would get stomped by any decent player on neutral settings. It is not an impressive achievement IMO, it is not worthy of high praise IMO, and anyone who plays the majority of his/her games on city mogul against new players, is a coward IMO.

I have been on this site for three years, and nobody has haters except blatant bully farmers. And i dont particularly hate anyone, i just find it necessary to be one of the few who will call a coward, a coward to their face, during the times when they find it necessary to try and stand on a pedestle above the rest. the rest being comprised mostly of his betters, some of which mistakenly shower praise on the unworthy coward. but this is just one honest man's opinion.

if you feel like this is worth fighting over, and that this one trick pony is worth defending, then i feel sorry for you in a sense. but not really to the extent that i will devote any more of my time to this waste of a thread.

It is MY opinion that this 'achievement' is nothing, and I have expressed that opinion, and think less of everyone who finds it something of such. Absolutely. I am also of the opinion that 95% of the players on this site who would never stoop to such tactics are better than someone. Dont place me up on a pedestal, for that is not where i wish to be. I am with the vast majority who have a semblence of integrity. perhaps i am in the minority in that i feel compelled to challenge the shortcomings of those who would claim to be superior.

I am not superior, just better than the fakers, and possess balls enough to put them to the test. Did i not say that if he could beat me or any of my clanmates in a best of 11 1v1 on neutral settings, that i would quit CC altogether? Thats called put up or shut up. I made a claim, i made a challenge, and inso doing that, have provided an opportunity to be bested or proven wrong.

Cant get much fairer than that. sadly the most probable outcome will be that GHG will not wish to play any games in which he does not have a sizable advantage going in. his track record shows that. his laughably pathetic endless string of 6 point wins. any of us could do that.

What a 'farmer'. Only plays speed/freestyle city mogul against low ranks. Introduced my mate to the game back in 2009 and he'd played a few games so had a rank. He comes back 2 years later and about 5 minutes after he'd logged on he had a PM from this guy asking if he wanted to play one of his free speed games.

Needless to say I told him to ignore it. This is bad for the site

This, in a nutshell.

Do we as a community want what is good for the site, or do we sit idly back not saying a word whilst some guy screws the system? Sure it's fine for those established players who aren't directly affected by GLG's games (though it does make a mockery of the scoreboard) and it will be those people you see writing 'Congrats' on his wall or in this thread. You won't however be witnessing any "Fair play to you" comments from the dozens of inexperienced players this charlatan has alienated from the site.

Why can't people see this? Why doesn't everyone see the fraud for who he is and point a finger at him? His code of conduct is indefensible as far as I'm concerned, and "It's not against CC Rules" frankly doesn't cut any mustard with me. It's not against the law for me to spit in my guests' food at the dinner table, yet I wouldn't even consider such behaviour.

GLG, formerly the member known as D*** H****, has oft quoted in his defence [to paraphrase] "Oh I've done a lot for the site, teaching noobs how to play properly and setting up many tournaments". Yeah right! Sorry to sound cynical but these quick 1v1 tourneys (for sergeant ranks and lower) would be a great way to find fresh meat to farm. Something tells me our 'Conqueror' is not the most altruistic person on the site.

I come on here, as I expect the majority do, to enjoy a game on a level playing field. Why entertain/applaud/reward the efforts of someone who is obviously hell-bent on personal gain so that he may stand atop a pedestal and say "Look at me!" Throw tomatoes at the scoundrel I say.

Is there no other reason he got a new name? By effect, changing his name after 3 years on the site seems with purpose? The timming seems off if it was only for privacy reasons.

I (and as i expect most of the general population) did not know he had changed his name. What i do know is that D**** H****** really took farming to the fullest, meticulously searching out helpless opponents who had never played on farming maps, with objectives, on settings also completely new to them.

Well that's what i mean, The responses are mixed because people don't know who GLG is. If "D**** H******" would have become conqueror i expect the responses would have been much more negative.
