You run into various problems with your solution. How do you know who would be a cop and Doctor? Now you putting those two out into the fray and they would be picked off either way you look at it. If the cop steps up and says, This person is okay. The cop is dead.

The cop shouldnt stand up and say, Hi, Im a cop cause its virtual suicide.

Your plan works if the cop and doc know each other and can communicate through PM but I doubt they can.

Good ploy but FOS on that.

Even if you use all the WIFOM arguments about okay the cop can claim because it will doc protection or watcher insurance. Its STILL fruitless to claim without a guilty result. And with a game this size we don't even know if this is a standard game or not. Theres no way to tell without some claims and lynches. thats why the L-2 then claim, then pick a lynch is also good.

I agree pressure votes would tend to be the better point of action given the two I believe.

Well, we need to get this moving somehow. We have newguy's post of "Hey guys, I'm going to be submarining until something comes up". There's also Some7thingCLEVER, who has made one post since confirming, and it was solely to respond to a vote against him:

lol that's cause I signed up last week and ya I meant it to be that way
unvote vote Some7thingCLEVER to get him talking.

i dont appreciate how you word it. i was being honest, the point of submarining is not to draw attention to yourself, so why would i tell everybody i wasnt going to be active day one if i was planning on submaring the whole time? jeeze, use common sense...

The problem is submaring is submarining no matter what. No matter if its intentional or not, or even said ahead of time. Submarining is scummy no matter how you phrase it. Its not voteworthy just yet in my opinion, but its noted for sure.

Yeah, the other thing is that if you don't participate on bandwagons, we don't learn any information either. So that's definitely a bad thing if you submarine, even on Day 1.

unvote before someone hammers. I don't know if any fake claims were given out (I wouldn't think so?), but I'm not ready to lynch on this.

Hmm, not sure about that, and we did get some information, so I will unvote. With only 9 people more than 10% of the players have claimed, and while I'm not opposed to pursuing a promising lead, I'm also not a fan of forcing another case to get another claim. If nothing else comes up, I will consider a no lynch.

Between Lynch and Nightkills this will be a short game.

We now have a VT claim. How is this any better then a No lynch if we go into night with nothing else?

Im having a hard time believing the claim. I will stay away from the vote for now but I leave a FOS on Some7thingCLEVER. submarined the whole way through, popped up on a OMGUS vote and went VT.

I dunno I will take some time to see how I feel on this one.

if everyone claims then why are we avoiding lynching anyone? were likely to go through everyone and everyone will claim good, we would be wasting time

(get ready for sarcasm)

No way! He claimed Vanilla Townie! This is a complete shock!

Let's keep doing this, and have all 9 players claim! I'm sure the mafia will just claim "mafia."

(end sarcasm)

So, now what? I understand my idea had plenty of holes to poke in, but this line of attack just can't work. Even if I was one to claim and I happened to be cop or doc, I would claim Vanilla Townie so that the mafia wouldn't target me. Who would realistically claim anything but Vanilla Townie on day 1?

But if we are going to continue, I would vote either Drunkmonkey for his one liners (referred to in one of my posts) or new guy1, who just doesn't sit right with me after saying he would be quiet on day 1, then caving to the pressure.

So...VOTE DRUNKMONEY

sorry. you call me caving? last i checked i rejected everything. or was that anothere game? oh well. i understand voting drunkmonkey for his one liners, but im not going to vote him. you even said yourself, if we vote them to the edge, they will claim and we are only helping the mafia... i see no reason to vote him for one lining on day one. theres not much to post anyways.

Sorry for the pre post.

In my opinion on day one everyone is chasing shadows and hoping for the best most of the time it seems. It is about increasing the probobility that we eventually latch on to mafia.

By claiming VT, weather he is mafia or not, he has made himself expendeble. If he is telling the truth mafia will work around him anyway and hit someone else at night. If he is lieing and is Mafia we get a bad guy.
