It's been ages since I last visited this forum. Please tell me, does the Flame Wars -section somehow encourage people to act like 3-year-olds or why I haven't seen any decent, argument-based conversation here without someone resorting to verbal violence?

Anyways, I just wanted to correct you on World War 2 issue. The war was decided in the Eastern Front. As much as I hate to say this, Soviet Union not only paid the heaviest wage, but also made the biggest deal in defeating nazi-Germany. Yes, your help was crucial in turning the wave, but looking the overall importance Soviet Union was even more crucial.

I agree. Germany had their best commander and troops on the eastern front as well. I would like to reply to all the posts on about the previous 4 pages, but it'll be like the 15th time I've had to say the same thing in this topic.

And I don't understand what everybody's fascination with soccer is, I mean there's a ball.... and you kick it.... and you try to kick it in the goal... sweet. Football is on a whole other level than soccer. And Rugby is pretty bad ass I'm not going to lie. Don't think that you guys are the only ones who play it either, we have it here in america too. Pads are essential to football, because there is a way greater chance of taking a hard hit than in Rugby. You'd understand if you knew anything about football. And even you have to admit America isn't HORRIBLE at soccer. Our showing at the world cup was sub-par at best, but we definitely have one of the finer teams in the world. Plus beckam is coming to LA.

haha, yes I am happy, thank you. I really have nothing against British people, I just enjoy talking shit. In football, when you're running a route, it is way easier to get blindsided, thereby increasing your chances of serious injury. If it was just a matter of grabbing someone and throwing them to the ground then it would be different. I don't know... it's hard to explain to someone who doesn't really understand the sport, but it is rough, though maybe not as much as Rugby. Quite frankly rugby players scare the shit out of me, and I'm not a tiny guy. Pretty sure it's cause they're all on steroids. And I can't deny that soccer (I refuse to call it football, lol) is the most popular sport in the world, but I can't figure out why. I used to play soccer, and I have to admit it is a fun game if you're actively participating in it. But it seems bloody boring if you're just watching it. Is basketball big at all in Britain?

Soccer is a slang term, really, but has gained popularity in distinguishing between local forms of football (e.g. American, Australian etc.)

I have plenty of pride and honour about the UK, and am glad that I live here and have been bought up in this country. Patriotism is different then pride and honour. I will always question the government and will go on strikes against government policy or things which go against my morals, but I still respect my government and am very proud to be the country with the worlds greatest history.

Football is one of the fastest, most exiting, passionate, skillful and most loved sport in the world. It is the biggest sport in the world by a huge margin, and is still growing very fast.

I'm not quite sure where you got the stereotype of us drinking tea all day, but its better then McDonalds and fatty food which make you obese within a week you fat bastards.

That depends on how you classify the greatest country in the world. Living standards? Average wage? Safest? Best political system? Most liberal? Best human rights? Freedom of media, speech and expression?
