I noticed this too today...I don't use BOB, but a partner in a speed game too some shots and I did notice some screwy characters.

BOB has updated storing mechanism to store more data in a string. So now it will look different.

yeah, BOB is not using a-z and A-Z now (72 characters), but Unicode characters 128 - 32896 (I guess the kanji characters are part of that), which allows more information per snapshot and smaller snapshots as a result.

Cool. Does this mean it will work on Hive and Das Schloss and whatever other maps that it didn't used to work on? This will be great for the increasing number of large maps coming out.

Hive has something like 343 territories, which makes it the largest map by far. And under normal circumstances, it seems to fit now.
