i think you're well aware of how ironic this is coming from YOUR mouth...

The "Aradhus for mod '07" campaign just begun then?
...got started in style actually. You're not just a fuckwit; but you're a grumpy fuckwit too. Your name just got put so far forward that the rest of the field can't even see it anymore.

Wow, I'd nearly forgotten about DaGip too, he was great. The mods really put a stake in the heart of this forum by throwing around permas so lightly, I swear that the place is much less active than it was back then. It isn't even like it was just those that were perma'd that left, I stopped posting until just recently as more and more of the people that made this place my once favorite forum were either kicked out or just lost interest. I'm not even bitter any more, as for me the soul of this place is long dead and buried. There's still some fun to be found here, but it just isn't the same. Just going through this thread I'm seeing some names of people that don't post here any more that are sorely missed by at least one person. Was Snorri banned or did he just stop posting?

I wonder why those gentlemen weren't replaced. There does not seem to be a dearth of entertaining personalities around here. Saxitoxin and ArmyofGod instantly come to mind as entertaining posters. Both are relatively new.
I'd say they were. I may not be as down as ol' Frigid about it; the forum recovered well enough. It was just the circumstances of their departure that were pretty devastating for OT morale. These were very high-quality posters. It's tough to lose that. Especially when the punishment was so drastic, and, is now admitted by the rules as such.

Can anyone give me a satisfying answer to the following:
The fact that the maximum ban is now 3 months proves that the mods now realize a permaban is unfair, correct?
So why the hell are old permabans still enforced?

I don't know the answer to either question. Presumably the answer to #1 is "yes." I can't speak to the other question at all.
My guess is it has something to do with Night Strike and the other remnants of Twill's regime.

Despite being banished to the jungles of Internetia, Twill's fetid tentacles affect our glorious CC every day! The remnant warlords whom once swore allegiance to the lord against everything that could be considered trolling, if, by "trolling," you mean anything on the internet, still prowl the dark crevices of the board, ensuring that nothing fun can happen. From his bastion built upon the bones of the righteous, Night Strike sends forth his coked up minions, children captured by pedophile priests sold through the free market utopia known as 4chan. These altared boys seek revenge through conservative trolling of your hallowed freedom fighters. They are rumored to have connections to the Tea Party Death Squads, and will often used deadly force if overwhelmed by facts or reason.
