Awesome webcomics

Post by Haggis_McMutton »

If you read any, post about it here. Posting a sample as well would be nice.

I'm gonna start with the obvious. Order of the stick. It's really amazing how well this guy can tell a story using only D&D based stick figure comics.

Here's some random samples:

Action:

Complex characters(they are part of the resistance movement in an occupied city, freeing prisoners from a jail)

And, of course, pun sword-fighting.

Cyanide and Happiness and The Oatmeal are two of my favourites.

Dinosaur Comics is a personal favorite.

XKCD is classic.

For an interesting and well drawn story, I like Girl Genius. The authors have also done artwork for Magic: The Gathering cards.

IMO the 3 best webcomics are:

http://pbfcomics.com/
http://qwantz.com/index.php
https://xkcd.com/

OOTS, penny arcade, and C&H are also good.

You mean OOTS ?

It might take you longer than a day

If you do mean OOTS, keep in mind, it started of as a gag-a-day strip. It gets more serious towards the middle/end of the first story arc.

Well, everyone likes XKCD and Dinosaur Comics.

I've recently gotten into Romantically Apocalyptic. It's a bit silly, but it's well enough done that it amuses me. And it's nice to look at, I think. Another comic that started off silly before shit got serious.

Also, don't read the comments. They're a mind rot.

Holy shit. That's some seriously impressive art.

Good call, when it comes to non plot-driven comics I think pbf is in a league of its own.

Really hard to pick an example strip, but oh well:

YES. I was wondering if someone was gonna mention this one. One of my favourites. Gonna post 2 for this one, since I see SMBC as a sort of huge dichotomy between really silly poop/dick joke strips and seriously interesting philosophical strips.

Used to like it a lot before, atm it seems like maybe they should focus a bit more on quality than quantity, so many of them just seem rushed/forced.

This was one of my favourites back in the day though.

And yeah, the oatmeal is pretty awesome.

Here's another fun one, Abstruse goose. I mainly like it cause it is so unapologetically geeky.

Hahaha, nice. you got to the darth V stuff yet? that's one of my favourites.

I have another one you might like if you liked OOTS, but I'll wait a little more first. :p
Btw, this one I'm talking about is the most recent comic that made me pull an all-nighter to finish.

I also enjoy Mac Hall/3PS. Quite a bit of video game/college related humor, but I'm a big fan of how the themes and art matured with the creators.

I'd post my faves but I'm on my phone and lazy.

Funny you should post the bedbug one. That's one of my absolute favorites.

One I forgot to mention earlier: Garfield minus Garfield.
