I think it should be played. Still a match between two top clans and gives a better idea of how the top 5 shakes out for the year. But if people choose not to plya, that is up to them.

it has been discused in the CLA forum and has some support to do random seeding after the play in round so basically the top 32 clan get random seeding. most feel the top teams will still get to top 8 but this would open the door for some maybe middle of the road clans maybe to have a shot not saying they wouldn't if we seeded.

i think its a point that should at least be discussed here.

theoretically, you can have KORT for example play TOFU in round 1... winner will play TSM in round 2... winner will play PACK in quarter... winner will play THOTA in semis...
unfair...

there is a reason Dynasty is 15th clan and KORT is no1. you cant beat them, period. and what kind of fun would it be to have that kind of matchup in the finals only because one clan had favorable draw? and while at it, why random seeding after play in, why not before? probably because same mid lvl clans trying to have some kind of protection, not give up any kind of protection.
at the end, if you get to top 8 without beating top10 clan, that means shit

I don't think this will happen WPBRJ... the middle level clans have a shot by playing each other, winning that match then getting a shot at a big clan to beat them. I don't see hwo it is fair to anyone to possibly have the best 2 clans, or two top 5 clans play each other in the first round and one of their years be ruined

I project playins to start mid April. I doubt TSM would have one (but if enough clans join, they may). Most likely you all would start early to mid May. I will post more specific timeline later on, busy now.

IMO that's not a good idea. There's a reason why teams have the seedings they have. You say "open the door for some middle of the road clans to have a shot", but if they really deserve to "have a shot" they will earn it by beating whoever the seed puts them up against.

I don't like the idea of random seeding either. I know that is how the ACC was done, and that's fine. But this is the BIG tournament, the March Madness(that takes all year) of CC, and the top clans deserve to not have to play each other until the end.

I can't comment about CC1, but in CC2 Empire wanted to play and THOTA politely declined the matchup.

So, does that officially gives Empire CC2's bronze medal (I would say it does, just as if two clans reached the final and one refused to play, I'd expect the other to be crowned the champion)?

Yes, when I close the thread I'll list Empire as third. I think I even said that in the OP of CC1, if one clan refuses it is a forfeit. In CC1, both clans agreed to not play though.

Feedback on cup-tied rule.

I like it, it mitigates against potential dodgy 'transfers' to clans that progress to later rounds, whilst your proviso for one legal 'transfer' leaves space for genuine transfers. I'd personally go for a complete cup-tied rule, no exceptions - if there are such rules in most of the major clan events it may help reduce the number of 'journeymen' out there and help generate more commitment by players to their clans (i.e. if they transfer they may be restricted to only some clans events in their new clan, until a new 'season' starts.

Potentially, a clan 'transfer window' could be discussed elsewhere.

  -Must have completed 2 competetive clan wars of at least 40 games
