Alrighty, I recall seeing that, sorrydrunkmonkey wrote:I was out of town the past two days, as posted in the vacation thread. I dont know if anything will come of it, but that is just my input. I do nto see any way we can proceed besides at least finding out which one is the JOAT because if we dont find that out then we are going to be leaving a (apparent) mafia who doesnt want to claim.
Djfireside claims the JOAT was picked before him.Alt1978 – 11
MoB – 14 (replaced by drunkmonkey)
Djfireside – 17
Soundman – 22
Nagerous - 6

You are correct. However, I will point out that it's against the rules of the game (by my understanding) to contact anyone outside the game thread during the day. So that would also require me trusting that my scumbuddy would read my post before Rodion puts up a vote count. Even in the case I'm a lying, conniving scum - I'm not a cheater.spiesr wrote:One possible scenario that you neglected. You are the JOAT, and lying about being the Double Voter. In order for that to work one of your scum mates will have to be the double voter and be covering for you with his vote. (Assuming that the double vote actually appears as you say.)

Well, I didn't have a case based on anything but the JOAT claims. If I presented my case without claiming, one could make the exact same case about me that I made on Alt. Maybe it was a mistake, but I didn't see much harm in claiming my role, since mafia probably don't care about it much.pmchugh wrote:I don't really think the claim was necessary drunk, I would have preferred you to present a case for alt relying on scumhunting. It is impossible for someone to counter claim though so I guess that helps.
Unfortunately I can't see us getting away without the other two claiming atm. I guess it is a question of whether dj or alt claims first. I think the trick is getting the first one to claim so that they get counter claimed by someone other than each other. This would almost certainly mean they were mafia. (or else we have caught two of them)
In this respect I say alt goes first as dj is more likely to know what role alt has and therefore more likely to correctly CC.

I am unsure which one is lying unfortunately but one of the things you said makes me feel a bit uncomfortable and makes me think you are lying and here are my reasons for it.drunkmonkey wrote:I am the town doublevoter. I was told this was MoB's first choice. I will prove this with a vote on myself in the next vote count.
So, here's what we're working with:Djfireside claims the JOAT was picked before him.Alt1978 – 11
MoB – 14 (replaced by drunkmonkey)
Djfireside – 17
Soundman – 22
Nagerous - 6
nagerous claims the JOAT was picked before him.
soundman has claimed vig.
Alt1978 claims he is not JOAT.
The actual JOAT is not just avoiding a claim, but flat out lying, which makes him scum in my eyes. Below, I'll give my breakdown of the possible liars.
A) Djfireside
2 possible scenarios here:
1) Djfireside is JOAT.
2) nagerous or soundman is JOAT, and Djfireside is covering for them. I find this less likely, because it's basically trading 2 mafia for one townie once we realize the mislynch.
B) Alt1978
A lie by Alt1978 is simple - he's the JOAT
C) soundman
A lie by soundman means that he's covering for the actual mafia vig. Since JOAT's kill ability is gone, the vig is a more important role for them to keep. However, he claimed before the JOAT-hunt, so I'm not sure about the chances of this. As I said earlier, this also means Djfireside assisted with the lie.
Djfireside was the first to claim that JOAT was picked before him, placing the blame on Alt1978 or me. If we both have solid claims, he's just hung himself. If he's lying, he could have just as easily said JOAT wasn't at the top of his list, and kept us guessing at who it really was.
vote Alt1978
We need to pressure one (or both) of you to find who's lying, and you're at the top of my list.

I simply used it to show I had it. I could have placed it on anyone - the target had no meaning.spiesr wrote:Drunkmonkey, can you explain why you choose to use your extra vote to vote for yourself?

Yeah, you're the doublevoter. We get it, don't worry. Sure doesn't mean you aren't scum imo, but it does mean you will not be getting hung over this joat business.drunkmonkey wrote:I just moved it to alt. I realize if you think I'm plotting with a scum partner, you could think I'm just as easily still coordinating with them. I don't know how else to prove my claim.

I agree you have proven that you can move the vote around which proves its there. I checked at the time you were playing it and there were others online as well so Im not discounting the fact you could be working with someone else including one that came to your defense.edocsil wrote:Yeah, you're the doublevoter. alt1978 wrote:Well...actually in thinking about it i think know the answer to my previous question. Also...being a kentucky guy...i'm going to be getting my lucky tee shirt ready and prepping to sit in my lucky chair so that we can finally win this eighth national championship tonight. A loss tonight however would ensure that i'm in no condition to get on here...so I am going to go ahead with the claiming.
I am the cop.
My reason for choosing the role is that it seems like a powerful one...one that would be fun to play...and one that would be useful to the town.
Day one ghostly seemed highly suspicious to me...so i used my investigative power to inspect ghostly. He came up INNOCENT. Day two...when PMC started his crusade against ghostly...i tried to bend the attention away from ghostly...using the numbers rationalization (which i still think holds valid analysis) while not revealing that I am in fact the cop. It didn't seem smart to come out and blurt out the fact that I am the cop to save ghostly...his role didn't seem that vital...but maybe what I did was enough to save him. At any rate...it seems he safe for now.
Anyhow...there is no cathartic moment in typing this up...it was a great play by DJ to claim he had JOAT first on his list to force number one and number two to claim. With the doctor gone...and the cop exposed...I'm not all that optimistic about where we are. It's also going to be hard to put together a dj/soundman case with all of the messy chaos that has unfolded.
Judging by DJ's play, I think that is the best place to start.
Vote Djfireside
Cop would have no use as a mafia role...i would assume by knowing each other they would not need the investigative power...unless it was to have it so town didn't...
I am not 100% sure, but I don't think you can ask that...Djfireside wrote:On a side note while I was thinking about it a part i didnt add was what does the blue part of your PM state Alt? Since we can normally quote those, that may be a good point to test.
