Short answer, for me, anything goes as long as it's not done in secret. You might earn some foes, but it's not against the rules as long as all players can see it.
Longer answer, don't make any deals or share information that can't be seen by all the players in the game. Unless, of course, you are team-mates. Then you can share info with each other as long as the game lasts.
