Oh, I thoguht you were talking pictures...

Lexington is far greater than Louisville, most of the state likes it because of the basketball.
Louisville is kind of important to itself only.
Frankfort is the capital, but no one cares.
Florence is a better city than Covington to represent the northern part of Kentucky, plus it has the water tower.
Most of the other cities are insignficant.

How many do you want?

Well the "golden triangle" is Lexington Louisville And Northern kentucky.

Covington is bigger, but Florence is better.
The area calls it self northern Kentucky if you'd be willing to do that.
You could just use Cincinnati right at the southern Ohio border.

Cincinnati wouldn't work for his state bonus though...

And no decals is a great choice.

TBK...that bottom left corner of Kentucky....bit bare from a city and highway pov....makes the map seem a little unbalanced.
Perhaps you could include Paducah or Princeton.

What about Bowling Green? It's much larger than Florence and Covington combined. Plus it's in the southern area of Kentucky, so it looks more visually balanced.

Yes, i had thought of that, but for me, it would be like using Florence creating a trianlge in that area.
The reason i looked more at Paducah was because it could join up (and does in RL) with both Louisville and St Louis, and fill that bottom left corner of the map more successfully.
Only my opinion though.

Hmm, and an interesting one. My problem is that I've never heard of Peducah, and it's pop. is below a hundred thousand. That's just to small to be listed with the other cities on this map. Bowling Green is cutting it close but Blake's right it's pop. is much greater than Florence to I think I'm putting that at the top of the list of a Kentucky 3rd.

You have a lot of talent and I wish you would branch out of england and america.... but you will take this for what you will and push on and finish this map.

just promise me the next one will not be a limp ass fish. k?


Noone has ver done a real alamo map.. how about when the spanish conquered the impenetrable island of the Mayans in mexico city? dude that is like the first 2 off of my head....

Man how many times do I have to have Wikipedia's map of the mid-west thrown in my face? I get it, I know what Wikipedia equates to the midwest. I will remind you all once again that the term "heartland" isn't a real denotation of any specific region in America. It's a made up term that can refer to any interior region of the country. Saying Kentucky is not part of the heartland is like saying that Chocolate Town isn't part of Candy Land. You cannot prove that it is or isn't because there are no actual borders to Candy Land, it's whatever you want to believe it to be.

I consider the truest definition of the "heartland" to be the oldest and most populated part of the interior, of which Kentucky is most definitely a part of. That's just my definition. I don't expect everyone to agree with it.

Now as for your other comments,

I know you're honest, I know you like me, and I will be taking your comment with a grain of salt.

I know that this is kind of a dull region to focus on. That's sort of what made me think it would be a neat idea though. I like making un-cool thing's cool. That being said I'm not sure if I am going to finish this idea (nothing to do with what you said I've been considering this for a while). I don't know... I might. I'm really at the crossroads with this one, and there's 3 roads I'm looking at.

1.)carry on as is, why? because I think I've go a fairly neat map going on here that focuses on a fairly neat while otherwise neglected part of the country, that'll be pretty fun to play on.

2.)Scrap it, why? because this isn't generating a lot of excitement and I have some other idea's that might be better suited for this style of gameplay.

3.)Expand it to cover, all of Michigan, Wisconsin, Iowa, and Missouri, as well as parts of Kansas and Minnesota, why? to fit a more generic sense of the term "heartland" and pull in a slightly larger audience.

And for the record, I've NEVER done a map of England. I did a map of the British isles that very specifically omitted England.

and with that said I'm thinking I'm going to do a map of Feudal England next. Suck it up.

Bison, I've heard of Paducah. I would say that it's not super obscure. I'm not from Kentucky, but if it's better for the map, I would use it. I've never heard of Florence.
