I can't imagine it not being considered "comedy", though I suppose I can see it being used in a Psych class.Phatscotty wrote:Dream Team, we got to watch it in Psych class!
It was hilarious, but it wasn't a laugh a minute. Perhaps they focused too much on the plot, yet it was truly a good story.Woodruff wrote:Phatscotty wrote:Dream Team, we got to watch it in Psych class!

The Dream Team (1989)
Rat Race (2001)
Multiplicity (1996)
The Absent Minded Professor (1961)
The Whole Nine Yards (2000)
Cool Runnings (1993)
Meet The Parents (2000)
Trading Places (1983)
Mrs. Doubtfire (1993)
Short Circuit (1986)
If you've never seen The Dream Team, I highly recommend it.

Also, I'm somewhat surprised by your top list. I guess you're going with more mild comedies, but the only one I would consider on a top 10 in your list is Meet the Parents (haven't seen a few, granted). Like, I remember seeing Rat Race soon after it came out on video (I was about 12) and only found it partially amusing at best. Very tame stuff.Woodruff wrote:FIGHT TH' MAN!!!!!Army of GOD wrote:READ THE OPWoodruff wrote:Here are the ten movies (in order) that I consider the greatest comedy (that I can recall, subject to editing later):

I don't tend to like the overtly silly humor or slapstick varieties such as you see in Airplane! or Monty Python (although I enjoyed parts of The Holy Grail). For those reasons, Steve Martin, Chevy Chase, and that sort tend to get on my nerves.Army of GOD wrote:Also, I'm somewhat surprised by your top list. Have you even seen 50 comedies? Think about it. I bet you can't make a list of 50 comedies you've seen, or probably even 50 movies.Army of GOD wrote:And don't get me wrong, Cool Runnings is very funny too. But it'd have a hard time making it on my top 50 list, nevermind top 10.
