I only ever join when i am 2000+ though i have to admit sometimes its close so by the time the game fills i may have slipped under again, been on both sides of 2000 for a while, up n down, hope to make it more solid, i appreciate you probably realise that from your comment above but just wanted to clarify because i have felt a bit bad the last couple of days seeing games start when i didnt have my swords anymore but i will only ever join when i have the requirements
I can relate to Captain Moo's sentiments. I DO NOT Join if I am below the 2000+ limit. CaptainMoo is always welcome to play (again, when you rise back up to 2000+) ... I tend to base it on what their rank was at the time of joining. In fact, right now, in the above games I listed, there are 2 others who are now Captain's, dropping down after joining. My dilemma is this .... should I send them a PM and ask them to "please" "Drop the Games they are in" ... or should I expect them to just drop from the games?
It's sometimes hard to say "Only 2000+ or above" can only join, when at the time of them joining they were (really) at 2000+ points, but drop below that right before the game filled up/started. (sigh) It has happened to me as well. I am kind of surprised at how quickly the games filled up ... normally, the Majors forum is kind of short sited when it comes to the variety of games. Meaning: It's always the same few people posting the same map, game, etc.... again and again.
My apologies to all who joined and that some dropped below the 2000 asked for. I could not help that. (But when a Corporal joins in using the "Standard Password" ... then it's time to start using different PW's ... one can always screen better at that point, but it also might keep the variety of good players from joining because it isn't as easy to join, or it's first come/first serve and one misses the opportunities to play others they might not have played before (happens to me all the time).
I do not know what to do about those that drop below 2000+ after joining into a game. There is not a trap door that I can Drop that player out of a game. And if I ask them (via PM) to drop a game, and they do not .... or even if they do, I tend to be the "bad guy." Now, if they drop from Major to Lieutenant ... I'd make some noise abouyt that ... because THAT would have been a lot of points.
This might not be the place for such a discussion, but I'm open for thoughts and suggestions on how to keep it with "all Majors, or above" without having to ask someone to drop a game, or een the possibility of such having ........
HA! I guess I could say .... only 2150+ are able to join? 2200?
Everytime I see a Colonel jump into a Majors game I always say that when I get up to that rank (one day!) .... like them, I'm not going to mind if I play a Major. Points do make a difference in ones ranking. For some, that means nothing. But for others, it's a goal, and an accomplishment (especially if one did it on their own, AND ... without the benefit of playing team games with higher ranked, seasoned team mates, where one can adv. fairly steadily).
Thanks for joining ... all who've joined, and there are still a very limited spots left. PM for the password, or invite!
Good Luck ALL!!!
