Done... I don't quite like how Russia's smaller, but it does look clearer.Colossus wrote:also, from a practical standpoint, it's not clear if there is a border between germany and irakistan or between arabia and europe. Obviously, one could use the xml reader to check, but on a map this simple, I don't think that should be necessary. I love this idea, btw.
in the first place Europe isn't in 'bits'... and i think he'll probably have an inkling on what the actual name is, so he should put down something that has at least a tinge of relation to the original name of Europe.samuelanonymous wrote:erm. it will make it seem like the child does not know what that place is. and i know fiddly bits is not a good name, but perhaps some variation on the same theme?
Let's keep it appropriate, please. Remember, people are going to play, ostensibly, thousands of games on this map... do we really want them to see "You're a peein'" on one of the territories?DankeSean wrote:Well, this map is supposedly made by kids.
Kids love potty humor. (If this were a solar system map, Uranus would be a topic of much snickering)
So... how about You're a peein' ?
I like Doodle Earth better, though "World 0.5" still makes a fine informal nickname.Enigma wrote:whoa- whats up w/ "doodle earth"? the best part about this was the name "world .5" lol

As for Europe, how about "European Onion"? Too silly?
Fair enough; honesty, I didn't really give a lot of long term thought to it, it was just based on a joke my niece told me once.Let's keep it appropriate, please. That one's a bit tricky; I'm living in the USA; I'm not necessarily from it.Wisse wrote:i think where he lives would be named "me" (you are form us so call usa me)
I cannot imagine why a seven-year-old child would call Europe Beer, but I'm sure you have a good reason.Wisse wrote:you could call europe something like beer, or pizza's i think
Actually, no. For most of the elements I used a somewhat elusive (and discontinued) vector graphics program called Microsoft PhotoDraw. It has fairly good vector editing capabilities, and is capable of artistic effects like what I used for the crayon lines and distortion effects like what I used to make the lines all different thickness. It also has some graphics built in (like the crayons themselves, which was handy). It's also fairly affordable. Or it used to be before it was discontinued.Wisse wrote:P.S
how did you make this?
with brushes in photoshop?
