Names can be in any language, the important thing is that the players are able to read them easily.isaiah40 wrote:Nola_Lifer wrote:Is it possible to have everything on this map in Espanol? I know we are suppose to keep it to English but Spanish is 2nd known language, it is a map about Madrid, it won't be that hard to figure out even if you don't know Spanish.I don't see why not. We have France 1789 with French names, I believe the Iberia map has the names in the respective languages. Also Nordic countries does the same thing. thenobodies80 can correct me, but as long as the names are readable, then there should not be a problem. Just please don't try a map with oriental characters in the legend and the map!koontz1973 wrote:I would like that Nola but I think the position of the foundry is to have the legends in English and territ names in English or regions language.
If the blue boys say it is OK, I will get it done.

Frame is darker. The brown background stays as is.pamoa wrote:please consider darkening your red bg
it would help having a more contrasted graphic
Could not find one that I liked. A lot where about terrorism and did not want that for the map. If anyone can find a nice poem, then will put that on.thenobodies80 wrote:Said that if you want to add another text, like a story or anything else that is there mostly for aesthetic purpose (so players can play without read it), then you can write it just in spanish.

Name changed. Water now all the same. Removed offending name from map.iancanton wrote:the text for los sacramentinos is cut off by the outer ring road.
retiro park is the only region name in english, while the rest are all in spanish, so it makes sense to change this to spanish too.
there are too many shades of blue representing the river and various lakes. why not have just one?

Taken it back to the previous name. When I changed the font, I used the old name by mistake.as i explained earlier, i believe that parroquia means parish church, of which there are many in madrid and los sacramentinos has no better claim to this word than any other. in fact, searching for parroquia madrid on google finds santa cristina, which is elsewhere on our map, and many other churches, but not the one we want!
Lake now 50 thinner. With all of the water done the same, all will look the same.the water certainly looks less confusing now, except the eponymous lake of the lago de la casa de campo region is too close to the river and almost exactly the same width, so it's no longer identifiable as a lake.

Here you go RB0.RedBaron0 wrote:Lets see some numbers and color blindyness testing.

Added the stroke, but cannot go bigger with the text.RedBaron0 wrote:I think you're going to have to add the stroke from around the bonus text to the text on the rest of the map, the red outline completely blends into the green background under vischeck, you may also get away with a few extra ticks higher on the size of your font, for additional clarity.
Colours look fine to me under the CB texts. I made sure their was enough difference between them under all 3 CB tests.cairnswk wrote:Much better koontz...less buildgins etc. for my eyes anyway and certainly less crowded.
I don't know about the region colours for the CB test...there could be confusion in there

Coloured outline for the text is their for the bonuses. Had the outline and it did not work for CB reasons. Will try the drop shadow effect then next but I am sure that will also be affected by the CB tests. The border around the lake is different is because to the north it is a road and to the south it is a path within the park.pamoa wrote:quick drop by and 2 remarks for improving yours graphics
no offence but personally I found cheap and ugly the coloured outline effect around your fonts
at least try a drop shadow or a fading outline
or maybe colour inside and a thin black outline
orange border north around the lake is different from the one below
keep going
