I find it hard to believe that any patriot could call the election of a president a "horrible day for the United States."Night Strike wrote:Wow. What a horrible day for the United States and the entire world. Or you know maybe there were some problems with Romney and his campaing, and republican strategy in general.Night Strike wrote:Wow. What a horrible day for the United States and the entire world. Who is this directed at exactly? Those who voted for Obama? Those who don't care? Those who voted for Romney? The first group is impervious(they just won), the second is oblivious and the last already agrees with you.Night Strike wrote:Wow. What a horrible day for the United States and the entire world. Just stating a fact of life. Doesn't matter who it's directed to: it's the reality of what we have before us for the next 4 years. It's going to be all big-government, all the time. And it'll all be unilaterally enacted by Obama because he won't control the House.Funkyterrance wrote:Who is this directed at exactly? Those who voted for Obama? Those who don't care? Constitution's been dead since the Patriot Act was ratified (if not even earlier), and neither Romney nor Obama is interested in getting rid of that.swimmerdude99 wrote:I'm sure a lot of people will feel the effects of how this election is going to hurt us. I think you might be in for a nice surprise , Obama has been demonized to a ridiculous degree but as an unbiased outsider I think you will see an upturn in fortunes during the next 4 years.swimmerdude99 wrote:I'm sure a lot of people will feel the effects of how this election is going to hurt us. It's 2004 all over again. Sometimes you hate a guy so much that you figure you can just trot out any random asshole and it'll be fine.patrickaa317 wrote:Either way, it is what it is. Congrats to all the Obama supporters, you ran a tough re-election campaign and the best the Repubs could do was come up with a moderate who couldn't get it done.
Being a moderate and going to the right of that, just means you are less of a moderate. We need a true conservative that can get a message across but even that may not matter anymore if you threaten to take something away from someone even if the country simply cannot afford it.notyou2 wrote:Romney used to be a moderate when he was governor of Mass. He went further to the right to get elected and it failed.
I agree, they need to stop alienating their own.Bones2484 wrote:Hopefully tonight is finally the kick in the ass the GOP needs to change and move closer to the center instead of further to the religious right.
I doubt it will be, but I hope it is. I want to vote Republican, I just can't sacrifice my morals to do so with the platform the party currently supports.

If I knew my state wasn't in play as they suggested, I would have voted 3rd party in a heartbeat.Frigidus wrote:It's 2004 all over again. Anyways, I'm disappointed at the low levels of third party voting. Was hoping people would be pissed enough for somebody to at least get 2% or so in a few states. Guess not.
Your initial comments were pathetic , show some dignity for goodness sake . This election should be a wake up call for the entire US electorate , your political system is fatally compromised by a degree of polarisation that is untenable . Unless both sides learn to work together , drop dogma for pragmatism, learn to compromise rather than fight , then your country is going to go downhill fast.Night Strike wrote:Just stating a fact of life. People have always voted for who promises them the mostpatrickaa317 wrote:The nation has definitely spoken. As Bill O'Reilly said, people now will vote for who promises them the most. While I am no fan of Obama, he is still the leader of our country for the next four years and I really hope and pray that he can get this country down the right path.
Step 1 is to STOP BORROWING AND SPENDING MONEY WE DON'T HAVE.
