[GP] Set turn in

Post by waltero »

Maybe allow players to turn in a set at the end of there turn.

Same phase as End reinforcements.

I say Yes! Why not? This game is all about attack, give a little for defence

Just skip a turn, you will get to place troops for defense.

I say maybe. This could really disrupt team games and add too much uncertainty I feel. Clans would vehemently oppose it (unless they have a losing record, in which case, the added uncertainty would statistically help them).

Just cash it in the beginning and not use them to attack then...

Think of them as actual reinforcements. There is more to it than simply waiting a turn or Placing units and not using them for attack.
Might bring a defensive element into the game.

I think a little more uncertainty would be useful in a game like this.

I would be both surprised if this has never been suggested before and be surprised if it hasn't been rejected before. If you want to keep your troops around, then don't attack with them. I really don't see this as something with strategic benefit.

so the idea of this suggestion is to code an option that prevents you from using the troops from spoils to attack

because you cant resist the power of the Atttack button

Yes, Don't forget the bonus units that are placed on card control Terit. it would also allow replacements to be place where ever you wish.

Another chance to turn in set...After you have made all of your attacks. Similar to calling up the reserves.

To be clear, this would still take place before you got spoils, such that you aren't proposing a huge change in strategy, right? I really don't see this being much of a change otherwise.

what he wants is money and time spend to create an option because he cant resist hitting the attack button once those troops have been deployed.

hardly a good enough reason to implement this suggestion.

Well, it could have some strategic difference; say you know your opponent has a big stack in an escalating game, and you know it's in one of a few places (fog game) that you will be able to see by the end of your turn. You could hold off and deploy in the right place, rather than guessing or wimping out and putting 1/3 on each. I just don't see it being worth the coding from a strategic difference.

Are you asking me to do the coding?
