If you want to play a game but do not want to look through pages of games waiting for 3,4,5 players, you can search by number of seats remaining, or a 1 spot remaining search
If you and a friend wanted to play, you could search for 2 open seats and such
It will allow people to join games faster
I know it would help me, maybe it is already around somewhere.

Similar to this suggestion, I think soon we'd like to give the user an option to sort the Join a Game page by slots remaining (in addition to the usual 'oldest waiting' first).

Good suggestion. When I'm looking for a speed game, the ONLY things I look at are:
1. Is it 1-slot-left?
2. Is it sequential?
3. Is it NOT AOR or Feudal?
That's it...that's all I care about.
...I prefer a man who will burn the flag and then wrap himself in the Constitution to a man who will burn the Constitution and then wrap himself in the flag.
When we are trying to find a game. We just get too much options to choose from. We can search by the number of people the game was created and so but it would be nice if we could search for games about to start. I mean, any game with only one open seat. It would allow people not to wait loooong times for games and start right away when joining the game.

I notice this post is almost 9 months old. Was any progress ever made? Like many others, I dislike scrolling through 14 pages just to find games with one empty slot. Even just making the result list sortable would be a huge improvement.
