That's a fantastic catch! I wonder if it was intentional when the Classic map was first created long, long ago to leave that connection out or not. The Classic map was a revamp of Classic Shapes, which was a replacement for the original Classic map (but that was before my time) =).

copyright issues? I doubt they would fail to see the real connections from the original game or forget about them... maybe to be safer they needed a little modification on the map itself, not just changing regions to capitals..

Am I the only one that realizes that newb isn't an insult if it's true? Calling someone who started playing yesterday a noob is not an insult. Conversely, if someone is a newb in the insult sense, then they are by definition not actually a newb, and don't qualify for nominations here.

I've played a few online games in my day and noob is not a nice word, even if you've just started. It's generally considered a slur.

Kamikaze is good and bad at the same time. I know I'm a newbie. But everyone has a point sometimes. Anyway, it is good if you are risking luck. If you are on the corner of a "out of a game" knockout and you KNOW you are going to lose, kamikaze can help inflict a good amount of damage before death. It's bad to do early and mid game because you don't know if you'll lose. I even done some personal kamikazes myself, but it didn't really help and it net me the loss. So it balances in 50 / 50 on the scale currently. Unless the owner of this site implants a new kamikaze setting.

oh yeah, waterman is defintely my new player of the year. the guy is here since 3-4 month and has already reached brig, he's got almost as many games played as me, he's already entered a clan, dropped the clan and created his own clan lol.

other than this i don't like the noob's comment about playing kamikaze, I dont agree with it as it's completely the definition of throwing a game (unles he's talking about 1vs1, or going for an unlikely elimination in terminator, or an escalating/flat rate game vs a guy that could give a good return on risk ratio with his spoils)

Basically, if you do anything that does not positively affect him, he'll tank your rating. I definitely think this awards him special consideration as 2012 Newb of the Year.
