copyright issues? I doubt they would fail to see the real connections from the original game or forget about them... maybe to be safer they needed a little modification on the map itself, not just changing regions to capitals..macbone wrote:That's a fantastic catch! I wonder if it was intentional when the Classic map was first created long, long ago to leave that connection out or not. The Classic map was a revamp of Classic Shapes, which was a replacement for the original Classic map (but that was before my time) =).

Well that's because Men have been Pussified. It's about as much of a slur as douchebag. It's only offensive if it's not true.Funkyterrance wrote:I've played a few online games in my day and noob is not a nice word, even if you've just started. It's generally considered a slur.DoomYoshi wrote:Am I the only one that realizes that newb isn't an insult if it's true? Calling someone who started playing yesterday a noob is not an insult. Conversely, if someone is a newb in the insult sense, then they are by definition not actually a newb, and don't qualify for nominations here.
This was a joke. Perhaps not a very funny one, but I don't mean it seriously funky.DoomYoshi wrote: I am using it here for descriptive purposes only for fucking assholes (also used for descriptive purposes only).

If you are on the corner of a "out of a game" knockout and you KNOW you are going to lose, kamikaze can help inflict a good amount of damage before death. It's bad to do early and mid game because you don't know if you'll lose. I even done some personal kamikazes myself, but it didn't really help and it net me the loss. So it balances in 50 / 50 on the scale currently. Unless the owner of this site implants a new kamikaze setting.
So do I win or not?DoomYoshi wrote:This was a joke. Perhaps not a very funny one, but I don't mean it seriously funky.DoomYoshi wrote: I am using it here for descriptive purposes only for fucking assholes (also used for descriptive purposes only).

Sigh. I will put you in the nominations for Player of the Year. More on that later.Funkyterrance wrote:So do I win or not?DoomYoshi wrote:This was a joke. DoomYoshi wrote:Here is the Wikipedia definition:
Newbie, newb, n00b or noob is a slang term for a novice or newcomer, or somebody inexperienced in any profession or activity. Contemporary use can particularly refer to a beginner or new user of computers, often concerning Internet activity, such as online gaming[1] or Linux use.[2][3] It can have derogatory connotations, but is also often used for descriptive purposes only, without a value judgment.

This stops players in January from having an undue advantage. Unfortunately, it gives Octoberites an undue advantage, but it has to split up somewhere.codierose wrote:why Oct 1, 2011 ?

I also like generalhead, he's getting off on the right foot by spending some time on the forums.
That depends; how many people can you vote for? Funky's already voted himselfgeneralhead wrote:Does that mean I get your vote?Funkyterrance wrote:That is an awesome post lol. Definitely noobish but he's got S-P-I-R-I-T!DoomYoshi wrote:New nomination.

Well if funky T can only vote for one person he should vote for himself because he has a better hair cut than me.x-raider wrote:That depends; how many people can you vote for? The both of us have join dates from 2+ years back, but only seem to have gotten involved in the past year.

Thanks for the compliment but I am pretty sure I can nominate and vote for as many people as I want; yoshi's threads are so wonderfully lax and the rules so fuzzy it's pretty much a free-for-all.generalhead wrote: Well if funky T can only vote for one person he should vote for himself because he has a better hair cut than me.

As much as that angers me, I guess you are right. The Internet ruined the Internet.betiko wrote:Ghost20021 wrote:I nominate cyrpilou. there you go doom, another one that doesn't get what you mean by newb. i think that "new player of the year award" with no "newb" in front would be less contraversial.
