I understand what you are trying to do. You just give too much credit to the members of this forum to stay uninvolved when requestedjonesthecurl wrote:I'm trying to see what other common ground those who deny evolution have. jonesthecurl wrote:After this post I intend to say no more in this thread.
And that would be the best way. Look at what happens in other post when they generalize the topic. It digresses into ridiculousness. That is why I am so trying to stay on just one topic in the "An Unproven Hypothesis..." thread. Even though there are a lot of ridiculousness and anger aimed at me, but it's not my fault. It takes all kinds to make a world.jonesthecurl wrote:I'm trying to see what other common ground those who deny evolution have. Actually, when I've got a moment or two to spare I might try again, and take the lead of Viceroy above, doing this one question at a time.

You really went out on a limb on this one.Viceroy63 wrote:If that is what you would like for me to do? Otherwise all I can say is that the earth is older than 6,000 Years old but not more than 4.5 billions.
Mhmm, I see what you did there.jonesthecurl wrote:Oh dear. The thread has evolved into ANOTHER ARGUMENT WITH THE ANTI-EVOLUTIONISTS. That's not what it was for. Time to abandon ship.
You could say he punctuated this thread.new guy1 wrote:Mhmm, I see what you did there.jonesthecurl wrote:Oh dear. The thread has evolved into ANOTHER ARGUMENT WITH THE ANTI-EVOLUTIONISTS. That's not what it was for. Time to abandon ship.

What I wanted to test was whether jones would give a specific answer to those questions or say "I don't know." If he gave a specific answer, I would shrug and probably sigh. If he typed "I don't know" I would have clapped.Funkyterrance wrote:The question is, tgd, are you going to fill in the list? When you put it like "ANTI-EVOLUTIONISTS" you irritate the EVOLUTIONISTS, if you want "Bible only" answers then you should not irritate the evolutionists with your title... meaning you should change itjonesthecurl wrote:Oh dear. leaps of faith? what are you talking about?... evolution doesn't require any leaps of faith, opposite from what you believe in which directly require that you see the truth and to believe in liesFunkyterrance wrote:I think a strong point that needs to be made here is that most people believe evolution is fact because they heard it from a textbook, from a teacher, on the internet, etc.. All of the information regarding evolution is gathered from a handful of scientists yet it's considered so concrete by so many. Gravity, thermodynamics and such can be proven through experiments in any ordinary lab yet evolution requires great leaps of faith in the certainty of a relatively small scientific community. Why then is evolution accepted by so many so readily?
Statistically we should not be alone but we never know, anyway if we find life in 100+ planets and moons in the solar system then we are not alone. And we should explore most of these places by the end of this century tho.Funkyterrance wrote:The question is, tgd, are you going to fill in the list? The problem is that evolutionists don't believe in the theory of evolution, they know that its true, on the other hand you don't know that your theory works that's why u need to believe in it. There is a huge difference.Viceroy63 wrote:If you believe that life can be created naturally then you agree that life can arise out of mud??? Very scientific?

The infamous "Captain Coward" from Costa Concordia used similar sentences when his ship was sinking and he was "organizing" rescue missionjonesthecurl wrote:GoranZ wrote:Captain is abandoning ship? Such man is regularly called coward.
I didn't abandon it until after it sank.
Oh yes, and man like you is regularly called toilet-head.
Just saying.
Evolutionist who are wast majority in the world generally don't like the word "anti-evolutionists"... But if you used Creationists or Believers then hardly which evolutionist would have wasted time in your thread.jonesthecurl wrote:You realize that this thread was not "my" ship? That I pushed it out onto the water so the anti-evolutionists could have somewhere to see what else they agree on or not? That people who have plenty of other places to shout at them didn't read what I said and jumped in once again to rehearse the exact same stuff that's in a dozen other threads, rather than stand back and see what emerged?
I have stayed out of this until now, but since its abandoned.. I, too, think it is a worthy goal. However, a big problem is that there is little real unity, except that evolution is just wrong.. usually (but not always) because the bible Says it is so.jonesthecurl wrote:If you're expecting me to defend creationism you don't know me too well.
This thread (as you'll find if you bother to read rather than just jump in) was specifically for people who have announced elsewhere that they believe evolution to be untrue to talk amonst themselves and see how well their beliefs fit together in other areas. I still think this would be a worthwhile project, but people such as yourself make it bloody impossible. I really am getting quite irritated about this.
