When you read peoples feedback, are you more interested in the negative or positive feedbacks (and why)?

I am interested in reading the negative feedback, and sometimes investigating them. But, I am also interested in the number of both kinds of feedback they have. If they have a lot, then the are probably a good player. I tend not to read positives though.

Negatives are usually funnier, so those are the ones I read.

But, one thing thats funnier than reading negative feedbacks are some of the appeals we get for busted multis. I'll see if Andy will post a few for you.

I usually read the negatives, as a person can have a lot of positives, and that shows that he/she is a respectable player, but I want to see what the negatives were for, and if they were worth giving

I did not use multiple accounts. My account got hacked and i have not been using the site since. It's actaully a waste of time. I rather go outside in the sunlight then sit on my computer all day waiting for a turn. It's actaully the worst site i have ever been on. People who play this game must have a ot of spare time on thier hands to play this constantly.

If reviewed, you will see that these accounts have never played in games together (unless team games). I simply enjoyed starting from a low rank and beating people that have higher ranks. I will discontinue use of the accounts, but request that this account is brought back to full membership. If this is done, I can promise 4 new paying members to your site by the end of this month.

don't have multiple, I play at school, have a lot of friends that play (I am president of a Conquer Club "Club". The entire club would be devastated if the president and his brother had both their accounts blocked, just because we play from the same computer.

Damn... that's a lot of fucking.

I have a tendency to read the negatives and find that most are petty bs.
It's kind of peculiar that some players with 300+ complete games have
relatively few positive feedbacks.

The thing is, you leave a lot of positive feedbacks, and then you generally get a lot of positive feedbacks in return from those same people. You may not plan for it to work that way but thats in general what happens in many cases.

I personally don't leave any (or hardly any) feedbacks because I view it as a waste of time. As this poll indicates, people are only really interested in negatives anyway, so I think its kind of useless to say "This is a great player and fun to chat with". You can figure that out by their score and their forum personality. So anyway, that's my view on feedback, and I know others think of it very differently which is why the system exists in the first place.

And for everyone who has left me feedback: I most likely think very highly of you as well, I just don't show it by leaving you a positive in return

ive left one or two, but have received many first...they come in groups for whatever reason...my number will sit idle for a while, then all of a sudden, it will shoot up by 4 or 5 in a day...

You have 227 positive feedbacks which is probably more than anyone else on CC. Yet you have left about twice as many for other people. Theres nothing wrong with that of course, but the amount of positive feedback you have is generally just a reflection of how many you give out which is why I don't buy into the system at all. Negatives on the other hand are much more meaningful/useful though you run into many problems such as revenge feedback, and negatives that don't follow the rules and must be appealed.

In reality I probably care about feedback more than I admit. Just the other night I had a dream that 6 or so people who I had "wronged" got together and left me negative feedbacks at once for past games.

No offense Fitz, but I look at your feedback and you have received 5 pages worth and left 10 pages worth. This tends to support sully's point. Although I don't doubt you receive much feedback first as you are a great player and seem very friendly from your forum posts (although I have only played a handful of games against you).

I think if you use the feedback system yourself you are more likely to receive feedback, just the way it goes. I probably have given a few more feedbacks than I have received. I will not always reciprocate, but if I feel the person who left it for me deserves feedback, I will definitely give it to anyone who leaves me some.

I think the most notorious feedback fisher is jamie who has left 11 pages of copied and pasted feedback such as "killed me, great player". Feedback should be meaningful, if not it is just adding to a number. Meaningless feedback is part of the reason why people tend not to read positive feedback so much.

It is the interesting negative feedback that makes you read the positive stuff. But I do agree, those multis are way more funny. I found the one about "Only white kids play on CC" particularly controversial.

I normally only read Negatives, as some are funny and quite stupid.

No offense takien at all. Ive posted the same thing myself. I have a lot because for one Ive left a lot....a lot. Mostly in the beginning. I also play a lot...1400 games or so since september. Also, I played a lot of freestyle so the quick nature of those can inspire chat. And I tend to chat in games quite a bit. I also tend to get them in doubles when my team is able to nail people early...I play very aggressively, so when it works...it stands out...when it doesnt, it still stands out...thats where Ive gotten most of my recent ones from.

But I hope no one thinks im the nicest guy on the site...the positives dont really reflect that. More activity in games, chat and feedback.

I do however think the system is good because it does inspire dialogue, rewards good behavior, and the negatives keep everyone in check, that care about them at all. But Im not looking for any prize for having so many....but ive consoled many a new player after demolishing them that they played well, and that the dice werent in their favor...all in the name of good sportsmanship.....the more non-disgruntled players in here the better it is for all of us

I leave positive feedbacks, you help players with issues, are always courteous and helpful, and get rid of bona-fide cheaters....every little bit counts

I think it is already established that the negative feedbacks are the interesting points, and probably the ones most read. I don't leave much feedback because I want the ones that I do leave to mean something. I also find it ammusing that everyone assumes players are "he"s on this site. Granted, most probably are... but when someone mentions that they are PMSing in a game... I'm sure they are female... am I right? Overall, I find my feedback humorous because of this very fact. I am female and everyone calls me "him"
