Leehar does Dispatch
Finally, I'm off to publish this issue, and I leave you with some insight into the travails of Dispatch publishing courtesy of the step-by-step guide pioneered by hippo in the preceding issue:

For those of you unfamiliar with the process, let me let you know how it went:
1. Everyone said they were ready and I compiled the newsletter;
2. Realised that I had not yet done an intro so I did that;
3. Corrected my typos in the intro;
4. Ran my eye over the newsletter - yes it was still there;
5. Went to the announcement section;
6. Set up a new topic in a new tab (cause when you move the old newletter it's a devil of a place to get back to);
7. Unannounced the old newsletter and moved it to the archives;
8. Set up the news,letter by copying and pasting from construction;
9. Computer crashed;
10. Clicked the back button - nothing;
11. Cut and pasted again;
12. Hit submit and computer crashed again;
13. Tried refresh - nothing;
14. Did it again;
15. And again;
16. Panicked;
17. Did it again;
18. Panicked;
19. Did it again;
20. Calmed down and looked in announcements ... where the numerous attempts began appearing;
21. Laughed maniacally;
22. Deleted the unnecesary extras;
23. Fielded a query from swifte wondering what the devil I was up to;
24. Deflected;
25. Continued deleting until there was one left;
26. Tried to send the newsletter to the volunteer list;
27. Computer crashed;
Hit refresh - nothing;
28. Did it again;
29. Stopped, realising that it either had worked or wasn't going to at that point;
30. Fielded query from Duke as to whether a minor amendment could be added;
31. Confirmed that was fine but better wait a couple of hours;
32. Stopped sweating;
33. Duke said he'd at least fix the main version;
34. Duke confirmed he had done the main version;
35. Time elapsed;
36. Time to try PMing again so I went to announcements;
37. Thought I had clicked edit, actually clicked deleted;
38. Clicked confirm;
39. Realised what I had done;
40. Panicked;
41. Various PMs with others;
42. Recreated newsletter announcement;
43. Tried to tell Duke what I had done but then deleted that;
44. Time passed;
45. Came back and confirmed to headline and managed to publish the newsletter to the subscribers (used a different computer!);
46. Beamed from ear to ear.
Note, this is not the preferred method, just my insanity for today. Lesson to be learned. Go slow, do it right, be calm, smash that other F*%#ing computer!
