CHICAGO SUCKS! Not in any news but 72 shootings and 11 dead on July 4. Doesn't Chicago have some of the strictest gun laws. Looks like the law doesn't work or maybe criminals don't listen to laws. Maybe just coincidence all shootings were the guns fault not operator error.

Now that Illinois has finally recognized that individuals have the right to protect themselves, the rampant gun violence will begin to subside as the criminals will no longer know that their targets are helpless victims.

There was a decent piece in the NY Times just a few days ago about how LA essentially tried this for decades, and now has switched to a different mentality to approaching gang and gun crime, and things have improved drastically.

That would be a very poor use of the military, actually. If you have enough of a military freely available for this sort of thing, then the military needs to be drastically cut, rather than be used in such a manner.

I think the best way to solve the problem is to stop beating around the bush and over-reacting about political correctness.
