They didn't even know what the prediction was, or even if there was a prediction before it happened.
How do you know?

Firstly, you only addressed some of my points, and completely left out the question I stressed that you should answer:
Ok, one question: What reason is there to believe the bible over any other religious book?
By only responding to some parts, you're directing the debate unfairly.
Anyway I'll meet you on your ground and say I feel the others have adequetly adressed your point. And yes I did suggest Isreal's nationhood is probably the influence of religious figures.
As regards the reverand's style of argument, let me point to one quote to illustrate my point:
Gay marriage for it or against it?
You ask snappy questions and deliver snappy responses, and move quickly from topic to topic, hoping to catch the opposition out. Perhaps sensationalist wasn't the right word... but hopefully you see what I mean?

That's what religious scholars (the unbiased, non-theological ones) have found.
Also, there's a reason why Jews don't recognize Jesus as the messiah. If the prediction was so obvious, they probably would have noted it.

Well, I brign up other questions to attempt to get jay to contradict himself... Because if i notice a contradiction in waht he has said on other threads I'm going to bring it up herea nd force him to choose one side..

I have NEVER contradicted myself on these threads. Maybe you should look up the word before using it in a sentence.

Read the thread... I have brought out many contradictions.. but thats the type of debate that Quee1 doesnt like....
POINT IT OUT! I will never find something that isn't there.
You support free will, but you don't think the government should....
Thats not what I said. I said God gave us free will. DOES not mean we should do anything we want. BUT we have free will to choose to do what we want. MURDER is wrong. God said, Do not Kill. But we can go out and kill if we want. THAT IS FREE WILL. NOT "having the right" to do anything and everything we want.

Well shouldnt the government still support free will to the point of where it isnt hurting others because that is what jesus would have wanted?
Gay marriage doesnt hurt anyone and you are crazy if you think it does..

Gay marriage hurts GOD! Because its sin. You are confusing "free will" with "my rights".

John Stuart Mill once said
for liberty, consists in doing what one desires
liberty and free will are interchangeable and they are both something a government shouldnt limit...

Or something made up by christians It's weird how jesus never talks about the major issues facing christianity today. abortion, evolution, gay marriage. You'd think his "followers" would focus on HIS message, not what other people CLAIM he says
actually, in most schools, they allow the parents, least they did in mine, to have a note from parent to say they dont want their kids to learn bout sex ed, but maybe your kid never told you? maybe you should check in on your kids school to see if they will offer that, o but maybe when you do that, they will come down with Aids or something, and the whole abstinence is and is still founded by christians, and honestly it dont help at all.... only abstinence is taught in most places, they dont help when the kids dont give a rats ass and go have sex, i mean ok teach bout abstinence i dont care about that but at least be like "in case you dont do that, this is a condom, and this is where you can get the pill, i suggest if you do have sex to use both so you dont ruin your lives with lil kids at 15 or even 20" and yes studys have shown that with all the hormones pumped in us kids from meat and such that kids are developing faster and so are having sex sooner and sooner..
I am slowly going insane, thanks to Jay, Brandon (the douch tool) and sammy gags for his pic of bubba....
easiest way to think about god here:
yes people blindly believe in god.
people also blindly believe in math.
Think about it? whats 1+1? everyone knows it to be 2.
what if we redefined 1, or redefined 2. then everything would be changed
we just have to TRUST that it equals 2.
just like we just have to TRUST that Hes there.
St. Thomas Aquinas wrote some interesting stuff about the existance of god, I'll find it later. In Summa Theologica or something along those lines.
According to guttmacher.com Idaho ranks 36th ... nevada is 1st, arizona is 2nd, my home state of mississippi ranks 3rd (further proving there is nothing to do in mississippi), new mexico is 4th and texas is 5th, but it was last updated in 2004 so it could have changed by now. I don't think it has much to do with what children are taught these days because most of the kids I know learn more from television or their peers than anything they are taught in school, that and their early childhood parental teachings influence them more in their adolesence and teenage years rather than anything else in my opinion.
p.s. I wasn't trying to knock on mississippi any, I loved it while I was there but if you aren't into farming or any outdoor things it can get extremely boring.

Its in the Bible, written before Jesus was born.
The Bible addresses all those issues....
"If a man strikes a pregnant woman and the child dies, take life for life" (paraphrased)
"In the begining God created..... man, creatures on the earth.... and they reproduced each after its own kind"
"(within a list of others) homosexuals will not inherit the kindom of God" 1COR 6:9
