Skipping turns on escalating

Post by Silly Knig-it »

Just had a thought, figured I'd throw it around and see what other people think. I've noticed it's fairly common for players to wait out the 24 hours when they have five cards. While it is cheap, it's also allowed. Whereas in Risk, this cannot be done. What about if someone does this, it just automatically cashes their cards. That way if you want to wait for the spoils to increase, you just gotta stop attacking like us good players. Thoughts? Anybody else on my page with this?

Just saw this posted by a relatively new person. They posted in the wrong place. I didn't see this transferred anywhere over into the suggestions column. So I thought I would.

I think this is a really really wonderful idea. If this should be implemented and it automatically cashes them it should just deposit them on the first alphabetical city that the person owns. It would certainly get rid of an aggravation. And speed up the gameplay.

Like I said this was not my original idea. But I wholeheartedly endorse it.

Intentional deadbeating isn't allowed.

Also I think the spoils shouldnt be placed at all, just held for the player to use next turn (or end of). Just as your reinforcements would if you miss a turn.

Interesting answer. But missing one turn is not deadbeating.
Is intentionally missing a turn allowed ? I'd like to answer no, but there is no evidence supporting it.

I knew about that case.
But can we report people intentionnaly missing turns then ?
For me it seems not, 1st because they dont do it that often, and you, C and A mods, do not punish for 1 example usually. Also because, how can we prove they indeed intentionnally missed the turn? And last, a lot of players, high ranked mainly, consider missing turn as a totally legitimate strategy...........

I recently played a quad freestyles games. 3 players of team 1 played, then we, team 2, all played our turns, the 4th player of team 1 missed his turn, allowing his team to start 1st and win the game.
We, in purpose, played before them to be able to start 1st, but they missed and won thanks to that.

I would love to see that intentionally missing turns because effectively illegal.

You can report it. I can not guarantee how C+A will handle it, but it is already against the rules..
