You show me one person that does selfless acts of kindness and then feels absolutely shitty about it, but continues to do these selfless acts of kindness that makes them feel absolutely shitty, and then I will believe that this person isn't a selfish asshole. But that person doesn't exist.

What about the doctors giving aid in Syria at the moment?
I'd imagine they'd feel pretty terrible, seeing little kids walk in with flesh literally hanging off their face and bodies because their school just got chemical bombed. Aside from the consequent trauma from dealing with this all day, they're working for no pay, jeopardizing their own health and security, living below their potential standard of living.
I'd argue they're doing selfless acts of kindness, feeling quite terrible about the whole situation, but selflessly waking up the next morning (with little sleep) and serving fellow mankind with no expectation of personal gain or reciprocation.

They're gonna come back and get laid big time because of it and they know it.






Selfish assholes.
