I'd vote monsters... though arms race has many interesting facets...
My personal favorite is New World... but its certainly not the "best" map

Euro 1914 is very simple... I don't think many would vote a basic territ map with a couple twists as "best"... though aesthetically, its a very good map...

WWII Poland is my favorite so far.

has an interesting game play but I don't know if it has as many different facets of game like Europe 1914, in which a slight change of settings makes the strategy to play it different.

and it's ugly.

TO be honest there are only a few maps that are aesthetically pleasurable, Qwert and Tisha made some of the best.

TeeGee Doodle is not ugly really, but too simple. A few touch ups would make it a pretty map.

Cairnswk and kabanellas are the two best mapmakers, although cairnswk's graphics are horrible. I'm starting to really like gallipoli lately.
Qwert has done many interesting maps with pretty nice graphics in the past, too bad he stopped.

Graphically, I loved it since the first time I saw it. Gameplay not so much... pretty basic (but I like it too )

Kabanellas' Third Crusade is pretty nice too. It's hell to play it multiplayer flatrate though.
