Well I am still here, I have fallen out of the picture dramatically sorry, mainly due to just starting Uni for the second time, returning student.

I will have a read and post my thoughts tomorrow morning. So sorry my townie friends, I am normally much more involved.

In other news, my vote stays 1 - WCS we lynch a VT. 2 - Anger, I'd SPECULATE that can't be good, but I could be wrong, but number 1 is my main reason.

Well I can't help but notice that as soon as I got a vote on zivel, he is the next one to post. He said he had to read, but I'm sure he was considering the situation of his post. Of course there is always the possibility that he just doesn't have anything to contribute (likely for Day 1) but I don't trust the having to read excuse. And his next post is short and agrees with the general consensus with no reasoning given. So my vote remains on zivel for now, since I believe there is still well over a day left before the deadline.

This is a game that takes about 10 seconds to catch up on reading wise. Your scummarining and non answers far outweigh the initial reasons voted against drake. At this point if I had to choose between a lynch of him vs you, you would win hands down.

I have to concur with the above. I raised my initial suspicions at drake's behest and you have done nothing to assuage them. At least reasons for your being dubious would be helpful.

I dont like the pressure on zivel forthis reason: Why would we take the change of outing a power role? Mafia already has 1 person they know to avoid if drake's claim is valid, so why the hell would we (DAY ONE, might I add...) narrow scum's search even father? Idk. I mean I know scum hunting is a good thing, but day 1 I dont know that there needs to be so much attention.

Honestly, I realize I am playing devil's advocate for zivel, but I think he is "dubious" about the claim due to the fact that he's a bit new, hasn't really experienced jak's games (nor have I but I know jak well enough lol) so he is probably thrown off by the fact that anger could be a good emotion. That's all.

As for scummarining? Yeah, he has to post more. Zivel why don't you explain yourself since we know you are reading this ... if you dont I will vote you to L-1.

I've been reading a bit on Mafia strategy and running though before/after scenarios of drake flipping town or scum under various game setups (3 mafia, 4 VT, 3 PR; 2 Mafia, 1 3P, 5 VT, 2 PR; 2 Mafia, 6 VT, 2 PR; etc.)... and have come to the conclusion that there are just too many variables to be able to determine cost/benefits with any level of confidence.
But it was a good exercise anyway. I'm leaning toward a lynch, which is a bit of a shift for me (since I do still mostly believe him)... but my fear is that if we don't take the gamble and don't get quality night info, we'll be in the same spot tomorrow with one fewer townie and the same level of uncertainty about drake.

I'd like to hear from Zivel before making any final decisions... While I'd like more participation from him, I haven't thought his inactivity has been scummy. I also saw nothing wrong with his "dubious" comment... VT Anger is a pretty unexpected claim and it's perfectly reasonable for him to question it.

I want to apologize for my absence, as this illness is really taking a toll on me, and it's hard to gather my thoughts. (I finally got medication that is helping)

1. I myself am having troubles believing drake's claim. I could see Anger being one of the reasons that Nathan (Or whatever the name is) would want to bomb the olympics. I can't really see why it would be trying to stop the bad emotions. But that's me.

2. Zivel... well, the points on him are spot on. Uni can be tough, but this game isn't exactly shooting up pages per day. But I agree wholeheartedly with NoS at the same time. If we bring up 2 VT's on day 1... well, they have a pretty good shot at hitting our PR's (If we even have any). Hmmmm

Thats why in a previous post i said i thought the negative emotions were townie and it was the positive emotions that were mafia.(obv i don't know other roles but thats what i can put together at this current time). I believe the olympics goes boom if town wins.

This is one reason why i asked about Jaks previous games, how does he like to mess up the games a bit.

I'm pushing, give me the reason. The only reasons I can come up with on my own that would hurt town are:
1. You are a day cop that investigated him
or 2. your emotion is "positive" and you are pro-town

I find the first one very unlikely given the size of the game, and the second one really isn't going to hurt the town.

As for not having picked any fights, that is half the definition of scummarining. Reading the game and not contributing anything because of the risk of picking a fight and being singled out. I agree that Day 1 is hard to get reads, but you say that you have a reason for being "dubious as hell" about drake's claim. So you could contribute your reasoning.

Yeah, it appears that in the skim reading of the thread that I missed that someone else has pointed this out. I would of prefered if this was kept to town as it was a good way to get mafia to make mistakes. Sorry I missed that and that would be the main reason I think it is dodgy.

While I agree with you in the logic his play was setting off alarms to me. First he posts nothing of relevance. Granted its day one but still....then he says he needs to read up. What are we on page 9 now? Someone makes a post and boom hes responds right back. Now he refuses to claim at L-2???

For me what really got me is his vote on Drake. He offered no logic or reasoning just a "yup what he said". Now all of a sudden with pressure on him he's talking game strategy like a pro.

If he is either Mafia or a PR he would not want to claim them this early. I don't like the quickness to claim and I still think the claim itself doesn't sit right with the story.

He has claimed VT. That is his role if he is town. If one is forced to claim they are suppose to do it at L2 (two votes from lynch) He was forced to claim and did not do it early.

It's a protocol we use here at CC to insure no one gets speed hammered. I am not sure when it started but its how we do it. It prevents double voters and other instances.
