Then I must confess that a few days ago I PM'ed DB4 to check back into mafia. I wanted him to see a response in the thread before he disappeared for another day. Nothing was said but to "check mafia thread".

I have always PM'ed people to keep their attention on the game, talked about it in live chat, etc. As long as nothing about the game is said, everything is good. We know all talking must be done in here on this thread, so what is wrong with getting someone to get their arse in here and discuss things for all to see?

I KNOW you have talked about things in a current mafia game outside of the mafia thread... but nothing was said about the game, so no harm, no foul. I would hope we would all have the integrity to play honestly.

Let me clarify my last post:

I know crasp has talked outside a mafia thread during an ongoing game... but nothing was said about the content of the game, just joking around and stuff. Same thing. The rule says no "discussing" the game outside the thread... to me that's simply put... Sirius and I are saying that we didn't discuss anything about the content of the game, just that they needed someone to "check in" and "don't go away", but to "finish discussing something" that is going on currently in the game.

It is my understanding that this is a mod kill. i was quite specific about this at the start of the game. now waiting on clarification.

My PM was just telling him that I posted something about him and I wanted to be sure he had the chance to read it and reply since the last day of day 1 was about to end. Then I added that I couldn't say anything more because that would be specifics. Would you rather have me PM you and you PM him next time?

Sirius is correct all he asked me to do is check the forum - he mentioned nothing about the game..

i think if we dont want to lose one power role we need to unvote bantam and vote someone else right away cuz the one who did not unvote yet might not have the time and the one who already did unvote need to vote someone now

by that i think he meant to say he is a townie with power role just didnt want to say his big role and i can understand it and i would come back to him on day 2

Well, he needs to do a full claim, or I think the lot of you will go ahead and lynch him. Not revealing everything leaves a lot to chance, and is deceptive looking. People are less inclined to believe him. If he's afraid to claim what his power is, then he might be mafia...

That is my understanding of the rule, which is why I PMed bantam. I always let other players PM each other as long as they don't say anything specific about the game.

With the time that we have left, I am willing to go for it, vote archer. Besides, we can always check what bantam has to say tomorrow, see if he got some info from night actions or was just faking.

Remember on my game after day 3? I mod killed 2 people and the game has been just crazy active afterward. I should have mod killed after day 2.

What is a mod kill?

So if I unvote bantam because popular opinion swayed away from him will I be accused of bandwagoning? What happens if I unvote him and dont get a new vote in, in the next 2 hours (sounds like thats the deadline for the day ending)

I have nothing against bantam, and since I don't really understand what a "night action" or "power roll" are I can't really judge him for this (although it does sound kind of kinky)... At the same time I dont really have a strong reason to change my vote for someone else.

A mod kill is when the moderator,( that would be me) takes action for an infraction. Somebody failing to post after a long period l would normally trigger this. As would a serious infraction of the rules.

A night action is something that certain roles can do at night. The role bantam just claims is one of these. At night he can watch 1 person to see who visits them. This is also a power role as it has a special power useful to town. If the person he watches turns up dead then it quite probable that the person he saw visiting killed them.
get a lot clearer on Day 2.
