No offense DiM but the perceived desireability or cost of premium is not the main issue here and to focus on that is to focus on profit from the same sources. I was under the impression that CC was looking to grow either membership or revenue. I would love to be abe to make a reasoned argument based on fact but that is not possible without the relevant data.DiM wrote:the fact that we have more maps and more game options doesn't justify an increase in available games for freemiums.
if anything, they are actually a good incentive for people to start becoming premium members.
PS: to be honest the cost for premium is very low even for poor countries like mine.
The beauty of the freemium membership is that you get to play, for free, forever on a site that costs money to maintain and that spends money to develop new features and game options. You get to reap the benefits of that labor without contributing a single cent of money or a single iota of effort to the site. And again, you get these benefits *forever*. Pretty awesome, eh?sundance123 wrote:The current membership structure was devised at a time when there was far fewer game options and maps. How about a pro-rata increase in the freemium game limit (or just double it)?
Why is premium not suitable for you right now? I see that you've played over 6000 games, so I presume that you had a premium membership at some point (though I could be wrong).sundance123 wrote:Of course the stuffier premiums will be choking on their cheese puffs when the read this. but it is fair to say there is more to CC than the clan warfare and map specialisation that floats the tiny boats of my never-to-be adversaries. A painstaking, and by that I mean cursory, look at the scoreboard shows freemiums are at least 50% of this site. How are they to be sufficiently tantalised into paying for your finer pleasures? Of course CC I dont not suggest you show it all off at once.
But rather, I expect a cogent argument coud be made for a change to the game limit by a person who has access to a fuller picture of membership details. So, of course, I must leave this upto you having planted the seed in your fertile collective mind.
You coud even get all scientific with it, and figure out how changing the limit might alter the number of people changing to premium by tria and error.
Lastly, my suggestion is not only born out frustration at such few games but more that premium is not suitable for me at the present.
Perhaps an even better way to increase revenue would be to put a lifetime limit on the number of freemium games a user can play. After a person has played X number of games, where X is a suitably generous number, they can make a decision whether to pay for future games or not.sundance123 wrote:No offense DiM but the perceived desireability or cost of premium is not the main issue here and to focus on that is to focus on profit from the same sources. More games being played by freemiums is better for CC. Does it translate to more paying customers?

Like ex-premium having an advantage on guys that have never been premium? Sounds legit in that sense.Metsfanmax wrote:I'm open to the idea of freemiums getting a couple extra games depending on how long they've been on the site (or how many games they've completed).

That frustration was one of the reasons I volunteered in 2006. Ha.betiko wrote: Like ex-premium having an advantage on guys that have never been premium? Sounds legit in that sense.
Business-wise, it s not something i d do. A freemium account is supposed to be frustrating.
I am glad someone gets my reasoning. Its very annoying to have the same tired narrative shoved back in your face as a freemium. There is no reason to assume that 4 games gives a sufficient taste to hook people that werent going to buy in anyway. Just as I cant assume that having 6 or 8 would mean more money for the site. It would be great to able to back this up with some data but all i do is raise this issue.drake_259 wrote:Actually i would vote for freemiums to get an extra 2 games. but for these extra 2 to be only 1v1 games
This is to help induce new players to stay longer and play there turns instead of having them to wait days and by that time they are gone and never to return and then hoping they turn it into a premium later.

I dont have premium because I am time poor for the foreseeable future and in truth I took little pleasure in playing for the last few months I had premium. I am sure this wil ccome back around.Foxglove wrote:Why is premium not suitable for you right now? No I will become premium when it suits mebetiko wrote:So why exactly did you stop buying premium sundance? Would getting more games as freemium make you want to become premium again?
Maybe, anything that makes the community more active is good in my book. More activity suggests more to offer for premiums and more peope becoming premium and as long as this bears out, then anything shoud be considered.Metsfanmax wrote:I'm open to the idea of freemiums getting a couple extra games depending on how long they've been on the site (or how many games they've completed).
Some guy used his money to buy this site, probably to make it more profitable and to sell it some day once he's added enough new value.sundance123 wrote:Maybe, anything that makes the community more active is good in my book. Great idea in theory but in reality all this will do is create more problems with multi'sFoxglove wrote:

TBH I think these extra 2, 1v1 games should also be available to only new players for about a month and after that it would be back to 4. Again gives new players enough time to actually play games and not waiting for endless amount of days to finish 1 round.sundance123 wrote:I am glad someone gets my reasoning. Its very annoying to have the same tired narrative shoved back in your face as a freemium. Note the lack of freemium support thus far.BigBallinStalin wrote:I'd support this suggestion if I was a freemium too. "Sure, gimme 6 games, and watch your paying-customer base soar! ...."
Nice to read some business oriented pro arguments.Geger wrote:I just want to add this : The site do get money from Freemiums!! There are ads, and only fremiums see these ads. And when they click the ads (I did, when I was fremium), the site get more money. Also more games for freemiums are good for the site too.
Note : Pssst.... don't let freemiums play poly, because this was the reason I bought premium for 2nd time
Where's Geger's compelling evidence?sundance123 wrote:Nice to read some business oriented pro arguments.Geger wrote:I just want to add this : The site do get money from Freemiums!! I noticed earlier that freemiums were here first! I will have remember that the next time a jumped up premie calls us leeches.
