PM's sit in your outbox until the person opens it. For what I have seen if the person is online its pretty much instantaneous.

something else about PM's and time. I often have to send multiple PM's close after each other for gameinfo of my tournaments. And I often get a message that I can't send a 2nd PM so soon after the previous one.
I understand that this is usefull for forumposts, to prevent multiple posts, but for PM's can't this limitation be removed?
