Okay - I'm not in a rush to lynch anyone is we can get more claims, but I do agree that sempai may as well give a name.

I have to say that I get kind of a scummy vibe from these posts:
got tonkaed wrote:To be fair I could end up being quite wrong about the whole thing.
It would be rather humorous if he ends up being the mafia godfather and here I am defending him the whole way.
got tonkaed wrote:As far as i know we want town to win right...
... and the fact that until you recently switched to charm, you and sempai had both only voted for Storr and Mtam. :-s
But maybe I'm reading too much into it, so I'll hold off on any judgement for now.

So if we're not going to lynch anyone right now, I'll go back to
Vote Pershy to see if he wants to join in.

They wouldn't. But for those who think I'm scummy, they might be worth a look - if you're town, I'm town, and vice versa.
degaston wrote:Why the rush, sempai?
Because I'm being bandwagoned (as gt pointed out), and I'm trying to get that to stop because it won't do anyone any good.

I'm Kingsley Shacklebolt, by the way - Auror, member of the Order of the Phoenix, friend of Albus - and of Harry.

Why are you wasting your vote on an inactive when there's so much good discussion? Trying to avoid the wagon now?

I already mentioned Kingsley's name earlier in the day, coincidentally. I expected him to be a protective role if he was in the game. Can you confirm or deny that you are in fact a vanilla towny?

With 24 alive, it takes 13 to lynch.

You can ask, but you may not get an answer.

It's not wasted - I can change it at any time (and often do)

See how easy that was? (sorry mets) ;)

As I've said, I'm trying to get some responses from the inactive players. If they're not helping the town, then they're hurting it.

If you change your vote so often, you're not giving much incentive for it to be taken seriously. Doing that deliberately doesn't strike me as town. But maybe I'm just not used to the current meta as I've been away for a while.

If someone wants to correct me, and say that an L-6 claim is no reason to think that someone is scummy, and that we need more claims from other people before we decide, then I'll be happy to change my vote.
What makes sempai's L-6 claim scummier than Storr's L-13 claim?

I think the only one that I really meant seriously was Sempai after he claimed early because I thought that we wouldn't be going after any more claims. I assumed that we would have to choose between Storr, Mtam, and Sempai, and Sempai seemed that scummiest based on what I was told in the only other game I've played (i.e. an early claim is very scummy.)

If I'm still around on Day 2, I probably won't be jumping around nearly as much, because there should be some concrete information to analyze, as opposed to the guesses and gotchas that make up most of D1.

In general, a double voter is a town claim and a pretty easy one to prove. I believed your claim going in for the most part but for insurance sake, yes, I would like to see you use this second vote.

I mean yeah, I think that would end all doubt right?

Besides any people chilling on this sempai bandwagon looking at the forum are turdburgulars and are scummy.

What makes sempai's L-6 claim scummier than Storr's L-13 claim?
I'd never heard of a 3rd party survivor before, but I could see the logic in claiming early if he actually has the role he's claiming. (though I have my doubts as to whether this strategy will work for him, it will be interesting to see what happens.)

I'm still not sure about Sempai, but I think I would have been more likely to believe him if he had waited until L-2 to claim. I don't know if he would have even gotten there - he claimed right after Ragian defended him, and while I was writing a post that kind of defended him.

My understanding of the situation is this:
You don't want to have too many claims because it makes it makes it easier for the scum to NK a valuable player.
Once you have all the claims you want, people have to choose one of them to lynch (if they're going to lynch anyone)
Until you have those claims, people are expected to continue posting, which helps the town get reads on everyone.
By claiming early, Sempai has shut down the pressure on anyone else, which hurts the town. (unless we lynch him and he turns out to be scum)

fp'd - Sempai's claim now seems reasonable and provable - so I still wish he had waited until L-2 to claim it.
