I rose to a 2101 point total in my first 20 games. I was not a multi. I was investigated thoroughly for it, trust me. People can be just damn good from the get go. Not everyone who wins early is a multi.

Guys - I am working this out with the moderators. I used to have an account years ago. I played a lot back in the day but drifted away because of personal responsibilities (paying bills, raising a family, etc.)

Recently I was thinking back with fond memories of the games that I played so I thought I would get back in to it. The email associated with the old account is no longer accessible and frankly the pseudonym that I was using was from a very dark time in my life (re: suicidal) so I wanted to drop it.

I set up a new account with my current email address to play again. I'm just looking to have some fun.

I'm not multi accounting and I'm not trying to pull the wool over anyone's eyes here.

He was being offensive so, like many people, I got defensive in my nature.

He also accused me of being a multi so I assumed he meant I had two accounts in the game which is ridiculous. I don't have two active accounts. I didn't understand that he meant that I had an old account until his later comments.

If he doesn't have access to the email his prior account used and he wants to play the game, what would you have him do? Never play again? That seems harsh and short sighted. Given there has been a general decline in the number of players here, it would seem to me that we would want to get as many new or returning players as possible.

Link fixed. I have to say that's there's nothing offensive in there, nor a definite denial, so it's a pretty subjective interpretation.

At worse, sulky. There are way worse things allowed on the site I'm afraid I wouldn't be sure how to interpret "I got rejected"... but your reaction is not offensive either, so I don't think what was said need detain us.
Apart from two players in the same game, the other down side is losing disproportionately more points than should be the case due to the unrepresentatively low rank.

I think you all should revisit your rules a bit on the point behind hunting multi accounts. I would think the point is to catch people with more than one account active at the same time to prevent cheating and fraud of gameplay.

That's not my situation at all. I had an old, dormant account a few years ago. Now I wanted to play so I set up a new account. Seems pretty damn simple to me. The old account is no longer in use and is not listed on the Scoreboard.

And ... even so ... what difference does it make? Scores average out. Game play averages out. If I'm going to win, I'm going to win. If I'm going to lose, I'm going to lose. Points get transferred. Over the long haul, good players will rise to the top, right?

Regardless, the powers that be refuse to hook my old account stats to my new account and I can't use my current email because now it's hooked to my new account. I would assume they have database access and this would be a five minute fix so it's a matter of rules versus ability.

So now I have to set up a new email and hook in my old account just because that's the way it is.

Seems like a bunch of hoops to jump through to play a game when there are millions of other diversions on the Internet.

I was looking forward to getting back in the swing of things and having some fun. I'm not sure the definition of multi applied here and similar situations might be shut out of the game in the future - you guys should consider modifying your stance.

That defeats your argument doesn't it Rockfish? The point is simple... Zeus2012 admittedly had access to his email therefore he could recover his login info and play his old account. He chose to create a new account rather than use the old one, which would give him the appearance of a noob rather than a player with experience.

Old Account - hooked to - old email
New Account - hooked to - new email

Old email - long gone. Deleted. Cannot get in to it.
New email - here. Working with it. Wonderful system.

The support team will not let me hook old account to new email. That's what that sentence that you quoted means.

This game has a sickness running through it when you guys want to chase away potential players.

I guess my crime is looking like a noob when I actually had experience. And that impacts people because either

A) they play noobs differently than they play people with high ranks?

B) they are afraid of losing points faster?

The fascination with points drives all the problems that I can see on this site. You wouldn't have actual multis who playing multiple concurrent accounts as much if you didn't focus on who was king of the castle. I understand that it's part of the culture so it's baked in to the game DNA.

I also read the thread on dwindling user counts. Has anybody made the connections yet?

As an impartial judge, I would not say this is conclusive. He may well have taken it as an insinuation that he had a multi within that particular game; it is also possible that his response had nothing to do with the previous comment and he was bemoaning the dice.

Some people on this site are quite simply a bunch of whiny harassing biatches. There is nothing wrong with reporting a suspected multi - I encourage it. BUT harassing that person non-stop is not on. The mob mentality is ridiculous. IF this player has an account that hasn't been logged into in years, the multi-hunters can confirm this and do something about getting him his old account back/change the username if it's something upsetting to him personally. Leave the guy alone and stop witch hunting him. We all know in this thread that he has an old account and he hasn't denied it.

This one is between the user Zeus and the admins. If I was Zeus, I would just not read this thread anymore.
