Yes, I'm only reporting this player as a possible multi because he has extremely sound and very good strategic game play as he has won 100% of the games he has played so far. I figured I'd let the powers that be look through this. If he's not, then damn, everyone has someone to watch out for because this guy's good. If he is, cool, we caught another one.

Because "they" volunteered to do a job that "they" are required/feel passionate to complete. Personally, I know for a fact that they don't get automatic IP address hits on people who have played previously on this website, as before when I was banned, I created multis using the exact same IP address (and different IP addresses) and it took them a while to catch onto the multis I created...people had to report those multis for me to be caught.

Clearly the argument that I made was that he is very good for being a newbie to the site. I chose to copy ONE of the THREE (at the time that I posted this report) games that he has completed, to copy into my post. Did you expect me to merely copy the remaining 2 games that he completed in my original post to legitimize my post, or would most people (not you) be able to quickly click on his username that was posted in the original post be enough to see that he only completed 2 other games? Would most people (again, not you) clearly see that my argument was about the fact that he's a newbie who has won every game that he's played in might make him a possible former user/multi be the reason that I created this thread?

As for comparing multis with secret diplomacy, you were a hunter do you have the tools now to put a case together against a multi. You have a hunch you report it, you cannot supply the evidence because you do not have the tools to do it. Where as sd you can look for wall messages to back up your claim.

You also have to realize these are basic settings on a basic map. It's not like he's doing this on Fuedal War or City Mogul on Freestyle with Zombie spoils. Any kid who has played Risk a handful of times could play Classic with ease.

For me, there was nothing more infuriating then someone posting very little evidence then getting snarky with the replies when someone asked for more evidence.

Not saying he isn't a multi, just the attitude a lot of people bring to C&A is what truly bugged me when I was a Hunter.

Also, I can say 99% of SD reports weren't "Look at the walls". There's a lot of work the Hunters actually have to do to try and find a fair verdict on them.

Yep i know tfo, but most multi reports are the same usually just 1 game to go on. The op mentioned his win rate. Me personally i would of looked at his games. His other games he is in good position as well. And freestyle 24 hour is not a easy setting. He played it like a pro. Honest i wasnt having a dig at you, just the way you worded your response, knowing we don't have the tools to check it, unlike sd where we can.

Ps i know theres more work needed from you guys+evil. My comment about the walls was because thats where we can find evidence about sd, to open a c and a.

- I agree OS that anyone about to make a report should take a bit of time gathering as much evidence as possible to back their accusation before coming to C&A. All who don't should expect a bit of a whip, but then after should settle down to investigating truth and facts.

I'm truly amazed how hard it is for people to grasp the concept of my report.

He's. A. New. Player.

He's. Really. Really. Good. For. A. New. Player.

It's. A. Possibility. That. He. Has. Played. On. This. Site. Before. Due. To. His. Utter. Dominance. Of. The. Games. He. Has. Played. In.

A multi doesn't only make numerous accounts and play them together to win. It is entirely possible that this player may have been banned before and has made a new account: case and point - this "prickish asshole". When I was banned before, I made multis to continue playing, and I'm quite sure that a plethora of other people have done the same throughout CC's history.

I was unsure if this was enough reason to create a C&A report about it, so I posed the question here. Again, a small sample voted, but more people said that it's not bad form to report someone for that reason.

So I did.

There is no evidence to report other than pasting the couple other games he has played too.

The multi hunters have the tools to make a determination. I don't. I merely gave them someone to look into. If he's not a multi, we move on. If he is, cool, I'm glad I could help in even the most minuscule of ways.

The Nefarious Newbie taught me two things. The meaning of the word nefarious (Google translate makes something like scandalous/shameful of it, is that correct?) and that good advice isn't necessarily taken by someone who asks for it.

More than one person told you that the most appropriate way to handle this particular situation, is to PM the mods with your case. Probably ΧρήστοςΓ won't come looking here, but he's innocent until proven guilty. This (supposedly) new player got slandered before getting a real grip on the site. If this guy turns out not to be a multi, he'll leave with a sour taste.

Looking at his games, he seems really innocent by the way, but that isn't up to me to decide.

This guy might be a multi, but I still think the private way of communication would've been the best way. Especially for you, btw. You probably had the best intentions, but should've taken this elsewhere.

Ummm... This chain was really funny to me. I dont see what zsp did wrong. If he pays a fee to play this site, and decided he wanted to bring a possible cheater to the attention of management then I'd say he did enough. I dont know the history or the relationships involved with everyone. I appreciate there is a sense of community here where everyone pitches in... but uh, If I reported a cheater(on this site or any other that i pay a subscription to), and was then chastised for not "doing more research" or "putting a stronger case together" I would re-act very much the same way.... It's not my job... I'm the customer in this business transaction, not the business.

zsp didnt ask management to ban this player, he didnt really dictate any guidance and what was to be done. He simply wanted to bring it to the attention of those in positions of responsibility.

Clearly there is some backstory and history between him and other players/volunteers/employees of this site.... but as far as I see he was simply trying to be helpful and raise a red flag.

Presumably when you report a crime, you just ring the police and say "I think there's a crime being committed. Please come and investigate. That's all I'm saying, you figure it out..." ... and leave it at that?
All we're saying is that providing evidence helps the mods to investigate and provide a speedier and perhaps more accurate resolution. Linking to games where one suspects dubious activity saves them time and effort in searching through all the games, and perhaps leaves time for other investigations.
It's about being "part of the solution", if you like.

It's painful to see how people keep bloviating about "evidence," when I've clearly said on numerous occasions that I'm merely reporting him for someone to look into, just in case, because he's really damn good.

I can see why Z should have kept this as a PM not putting it in a forum... but then again I wouldnt have know who to PM, i just would have entered in the forum space provided for reporting cheating...

So in answer to your ringing the police comment. Here is what i read Z's inital post as if translated to a call to 911 from my point of view.

Me- Hi I'm calling to report what looks like a break in.

Cop - What evidence do you have?

Me- I witnessed what appears to be a crime happening in my neighborhood. The man I saw looks like "description given" I witnessed him outside my house, I have never seen him in the neighborhood yet he entered and exited the house next door even though I know my neighbors are on vacation and are very good about locking their doors when they are out of town. I cant say for sure if he knows the family or not but I thought I should at least report it to you.

Cop - Ok what is the address, please stay in your home until we get there.

Me- Should I compile more evidence for you? Maybe as a civilian I should enter the home and begin to ask questions. Maybe i should go next door and peek in the windows.

Cop- No sir. Just stay in your home and stay calm. Any evidence you collect would not be usable in court and may inhibit an investigation if it turns out one is required. We are sending a car over right away.

Me- Are you sure? i want to be part of the solution. Maybe I should get some photos of him in the house? Don't worry I have a gun if things get nasty.

Don't mind me... I probably shouldn't have posted at all, and don't have much place in keeping this thread going.... but the police don't generally complain when you report what may be a crime or break in. they certainly dont ask for evidence beyond "description of suspect/description of what you saw" otherwise they want you to stay the hell out of it. Maybe its different on here, but it really seems like a lot of people are jumping on this guys back for just bringing a name to the radar of the people who are in charge of looking. I feel like he was very clear from the very beginning that he had no evidence, he just wanted to report a 'possible crime'... he's not saying he witnessed a murder.
