Next time you have to have surgery and the Doctor botches the job, just say:

"OK, he's not the best surgeon in the world, but he is doing the best he can."

Next time you have to fly somewhere and the pilot is drunk, just say:

"OK, he's not the best pilot in the world, but he is doing the best he can."

Next time your in court and you lose your case, just say:

"OK, he's not the best lawyer in the world, but he is doing the best he can."

:?

I want my President to BE the best. Not a bumbling idiot.

... OK, I've had it with this president.

... 30 BILLION new dollars to combat AIDS in Africa?! It's insane.

... In 2005, President Bush, with PM Blair, pushed for debt forgiveness for the African nations suffering from conditions of poverty, and got it. THEN Bush gave them 15 BILLION in aide (with Congressional approval) to combat AIDS.

... The problem? How many billions are being dumped into Iraq? Quite a few, right? And Congress is screaming for a time-line. They want progress reports. "If it isn't getting done - get out! It's a waste of money!" ... that's what they're saying.

... A total of 45 BILLION into Africa . . . Any demands for progress reports? Any benchmarks or deadlines? How about, "Reduce AIDS cases by 40% by July next year" ... None.

... Like the 15 BILLION thrown away in 2005, this 30 billion is going to wind up in Swiss bank accounts for dictators who don't give a rat's ass about their people.

... but we can all feel good about ourselves, right? Helping fight AIDS and all that ... What a freakin' joke.

... I hear Ireland is a nice place to live. Rated best place to be an expat for US citizens in 2006. Any Irish here?

Then who would you say WAS the best Pres. :?: Clinton? 1 word, pergury.
Carter? Screwed the US over, US had basically no military, etc..., Teddy Roosevelt was a good President, so was Lincoln, Washington, Eisenhower and a few others. However, no President is perfect, after all, they are just human.
"Eh, whatever."

Beyond a little nitpicking (what, no FDR?) the fact that the United States has never had anything approaching a perfect resident of the Oval Office fails to excuse the President for the grief that his administration has visited on the world. The indiscretions of past presidents is no excuse for the international boondoggle Bush has left us in.

I blame Ben Affleck for all of the problems in the world, including President Bush.

I wonder if Matt Damon could somehow be indirectly drawn into that as well so we could blame him.

Why would I put FDR in there? The guy screwed around to much, waited to long to join WWII, INCREASED the national debt during the Great Depression, was Socialist with Socialist goals, etc... Many of the things that people are laying at Bush's feet could easily have been solved by Clinton, but Clinton did not do a damn thing. [/quote]

It's so easy to combat and defeat a great depression AND a massive world war at the same time, isn't it? You realize that the US may not be around if he wasn't elected because he did such a good job?

Actually, he wanted war with Japan alot. And if you believe some of the utter drible that comes from the conspiricy loonies, he faked Pearl Harbor. Just like how Bush faked 9-11  .

Wait who said that its clintons fault for a lot of the things that are appening to the US today?

IF you get a memo from a terrorist organization BEFORE 9-11 and you ignore it, is it your fault?

If you are told of hurricane katrina before it happens, and you reply "we are fully prepared" and you aren't, is it your fault?

Anarchist, FDR is rumored by conspiricy nuts to have allowed the Japanese carriers to launch their attack even though somehow he knew ahead of time and had the power on hand to stop it, all so he could force Congress to get into the war.

And I third the motion to bring Lincoln and Jefferson back from the grave to run for office in '08. Only problem, re-animating hundred-year-old bodies  .

ah I get your meaning.

also heard a story that a dutch submarine was destroyed by the english to allow it to happen.

Kind of curious as to what a Dutch submarine is doing in the pacific during WWII though....
