if this has been suggested sorry, but why not simply have an option to make a game rt or non rt- and if you enter an rt game and log off it warns you and eliminates you from the game.

This is a great idea. This option also makes it more clear for newcomers. And for the old selfish people as well!

hmm what if there is a power cut for 5 minutes, then you return to find you are eliminated from the game?
