As one blog put it : "the real crime is that Rousey's camp convinced her that she was the bionic woman". Her sleaze bag coach (who started a smear campaign against Rousey when he declared bankruptcy and declared zero income for years that Ronda was winning championship matches) told her she was doing great after the first round. Amazing.... she is human after all. Watched an interview with her before where she laid out her strategy.... approached this fight completely differently, going in slow and careful. She's NOT a boxer... stupid to change up her style that has always worked for her. Just stood there and let Holly beat the crap out of her.... be good for her to lose... up her determination and drive....can't wait for the rematch! Didn't look like she was going in slow at all, especially in the 2nd round. She looked desperate to dive in, which suited Holm perfectly - just stay defensive, and counter.

Rousey got stung way more than she was used to, and she didn't know how to handle it.

She should've stuck to her game plan in Round 1. In Round 2 she just didn't know what to do.
She was already beat and wobbly. Granted, she's a champ, and still a danger in Round 2...
but Holmes had her number, had a plan, and had her off balance.

This was a nice match.

Oh that's good, the shower scene and eventual sexual encounter on the houseboat belonging to the motel can remain within the grounds of solid "science fiction."

They reached the motel and Adira took her backpack and got out the boathouse key. “Do you want to come inside,” she asked.
“Why?”
“Well,” Adira replied. “I need to scrub this paint off. Due to the general limitations of the anatomical nature of the human arms …”
“The what?” Bader asked.
“I need someone to scrub my back.”
She entered her boat house and he followed. She walked into the bathroom and into the shower. Bader was impressed that there was a shower in the boathouse.
“Take your clothes off before you step into the shower,” Adira replied.
“But,” Bader objected.
“Don’t worry, I won’t look,” Adira replied.
Bader then proceeded to remove his clothing and entered the shower behind Adira. Grabbing a natural Key West sponge, he proceeded to scrub her back.

(Note for next edit of the novel: I refer to the place as a house boat, (before quote shown) then a boar house and boathouse (incorrect) and afterwards (after quote shown) a houseboat (one word)).
