Yeah, although that is not a guarantee that the original is better. The history of the arts is a constant cycle of recycled plots and themes. Sometimes a recycle is derivative crap; other times it surpasses the original.

Much as I love Clint, he's nowhere near the actor Mifune was. And Leone has nothing on Kurosawa.
