Ironically mets is on the right track.

However, he isn't thinking about it correctly regarding what happens with a claimed vig.

First off I want to state that any claimed killing role that is forced to out, will look extremely sketch. Mafia, sk, vig. However a sk and mafia must survive to end game. Hence their reluctance to claim day 1. A vig doesn't have that requirement.

So with a voluntary day 1 claim, we can have full information on a kill, with reasons, and near certainty that the person is town.

So with that said, it comes to night actions.

Does medic save? Probably shouldn't. Why? Because if just a vig in a game with unknown roles. We almost certainly have some sort of investigation role. Not to mention can't be to obvious.

Does mafia kill vig? Highly unlikely. Why? Same as medic, they want to kill protection and investigation. Additionally a watcher could watch vig. Easy way to be caught.

Would you prefer every player in the game lay out their thoughts on whether a vig should claim straight away? That is the type of discussion that could envelop the entire day without really gaining much of anything.
Say someone claims to be a vig, what would be the next course of action? It appears you would believe that player to be town, but where does that leave scum hunting? Hoping for a counterclaim?

Uggh, this is gonna be rough, especially with some ESL players. Aladdin, is it part of your role, or are you post restricted?

I agree with Storr to a point - I can definitely see the merits and advantages to having a claimed vig D1, and I do feel like this outweighs the cons. The point I would contend is that they necessarily should claim - claiming would be a strong, pro-town play, but if it doesn't fit in the player's style, then they might want to consider holding off. And if the vig is a newer player, or someone who hasn't been a vig before, then I would fully agree with Storr.

Vote storr for trying to stop the joke phase before I got my joke vote in.

As to the whole vig claiming discussion, a vig claiming on day 1 is more likely to be believed than one that everyone is suspicious of already on say day 4. Of course, by claiming on day one he is less likely to survive to day 4, when he might actually have good enough reads to be more useful. I know storr likes claiming early when something like third party or vig, but I personally do not do that.

Finger Of Objection back at Marashu, because pointing fingers is a must in this situation.

I think it's probably not all that great for a vig to claim, and even less so to be guided around by town yet, unless they are day vig. In a big game like this, calling all your shots is just asking for trouble; back when I used to play, a baddie busdriver was pretty fashionable, even in small games.

sometimes yes. I do see the advantages in early claiming. And certain roles i will claim very early. (like vig) I would claim that on any day 1 in 99% of games.

This discussion would lead to nothing? Well if my options are jokes and discussion about the game, i'm going to lean on game discussion. Do i want all people to talk about it? I wouldn't mind. I do i want more than 3? Yes, its a large game.
