And I'm certainly not opposed to the idea of the rule of law, not at all. However, there are often unintended consequences to laws, and one of them is that they are skewed to support the haves at the expense of the have-nots.

That's not correct. Muslims and Christians in the Middle East have almost always gotten along just fine, prior to ISIS and Al Qaeda. The #2 in the Al-Aqsa Martyr's Brigade, Chris Bandak, is a Christian. For 30 years the head of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine, George Habash, was Christian. He had to resign due to old age and was replaced by his #2, a Muslim. It's not a university, that's just the fun name he gives his YouTube channel. It's no surprise an Israeli supporter listens to his show. This is what RationalWiki says about him -

1. Themselves can be plural rather than singular. By blowing themselves up they defend their views, family and kinsman. Its not a western view of defence, but that doesnt mean it isnt.
