Symmetry's proposal- new usergroup, now recruiting

Post by Symmetry »

Target: 9 members, and a name
Current: 4 definites, 2 maybes, a few suggested names

A new usergroup.

A Purpose:

A revival of off topics and general discussion.

Description:

This is a social group, not a clan. Engage with new posters, invite new people if they want to post but are afraid of engaging. Standard forum rules apply. The aim is to ressurect the discussion threads.

Name:

To be decided.

I need 9 volunteers and a name so that I can create a usergroup via eticket. If you volunteer, recommend at least one other player and a name.

I thought you were announcing your engagement in this thread.

Anyway, I don't understand this at all, but I'll volunteer if it's helpful.

For a name I suggest ...

I like it, but it could be pithier.

Are you volunteering?

I need to set this out right now, if you are, nobody is Molly Ringwald in this usergroup.

First opt out. Currrently we're at 3 definite yes, 2 maybes, one no.

Up to 4 definite, 2 maybes. That was way quicker than I thought.

I'd join, but I'm very picky.

I wouldn't join any club, that would have me as a member.

Why a user group? If you're trying to revive off topics and general discussion why not post in............. off topics and general discussion?

Because OT is moderated in a totally not fun way.

Maybe we should literally just create a sub group called Off Topics and make it private but open to anyone who feels like joining.

It is?

So please, enlighten us. What is a "fun way" of moderation?

And fun for whom? Because if you are talking about fun for the moderators then I have a plethora of suggestions.

I propose an amendment to OP, in that this new usergroup operates under the same rules as /b/ (the only rule being nothing illegal), and is open to any and all who wish to join.

Not a bad idea. I was hoping for it to be a bit less high school cliquey than PL, so that might work. You still towing the party line over there?
