I guess there's a problem with that idea. For some people, participation will mean participating in getting them medals, rather than participating in the community.

I don't think people are going to remain here simply for this medal. But, I do think it's an incentive to stick around more than you might normally.

That's a good question. I would be of the mind that 1 is too few, but maybe it's too many? Should it be solely based on games? Maybe it should be based on logins? Games and/or posts? I don't know.

I'll throw this in as a last comment on participation- the forums throw up all kinds of games, arguments, suggestions and challenges that don't involve traditional map-play.

A challenge like arguing a position in the GD forums can be a part of the community. Making a suggestion, chatting, posting new points of view, helping a new player...

There are a lot of ways that people can be active on CC. Games are a big part, but they aren't the only part. I'll leave it at that, as this is the Suggestions thread, and anyone who feels that I'm wrong because of who I am has other avenues for spleen-venting.
