Crimson, while a great band, came on the scene after Floyd, in '69.stinkycheese wrote: And most people classify their music as Progressive/Psychedelic and give them credit for being the first progressive band...nay! That would be King Crimson, a band slightly superior to Pink Floyd yet less known...sadly.

Ahhh but Floyd was led by Barrett at that time, totally different music. I always like arguing about this.Iz Man wrote:Crimson, while a great band, came on the scene after Floyd, in '69.stinkycheese wrote: And most people classify their music as Progressive/Psychedelic and give them credit for being the first progressive band...nay! I wouldn't say they weren't popular. Anyone into the progressive scene of the '70's knew Crimson.
What I always found fascinating about King Crimson, were the connections to so many other quality bands:
ELP, Yes, Talking Heads, Bad Company, Genesis, & others.
21st Century Schitzoid Man, one of my favorites.
Here, lemme list all of the bands I have that you might recognize:Guiscard wrote:I GOT SERVED wrote: RJD2
