Sorry for disappearing, I had to go out of town rather unexpectedly Friday to take care of a family issue, and just got back.
At any rate, Cola's roleclaim is all sorts of fishy. I've suspected him all game, but now I'm sure.

That's a role claim purely contrived to let you survive just one more day, which indicates a couple of things to me : first, that you are scum trying to live, and second, that something bad will happen to the town if you do survive - ie, that we are in fact in LYLO now.
The Unit was running thin. Costigan, Dignam, Brown, and Ellerby all lying underground. The Mob showed it's blood as well: Costello, French and Delahunt. All the killing, all the violence, when will it end? Aimless sat at his desk, reading it all in the papers. He was "working late" to avoid his wife. Tired of the drama he turned to the comics. It's like every comic these days wants to be like the Far Side, he thought to himself. His eyes widen as he hears the faint sound of someone snickering behind him. He turns around to see his life end. One effective shot in the head. Speed Bump sucks! the killer says with a smile.
Okay guys, this might be hard to believe BUT...
There was a condition on my role that said there was a chance of failure of my shot. See before I could make the shot I had to go by the grocery store and pick up a few things. I forgot the eggs and my wife (NOW EX-WIFE) completely bitched me out and divorced me. So after several nights of binge drinking and assorted mixtures of uppers, downers, laughers, and screamers... my mental health was unstable. AND THEREFORE I missed my shot.

The Special Investigation Unit knew it had a Rat crawling around, but two? Detective Barrigan had no real power in the department. He was a follower, never the leader. He was someone you never had a second thought about, that is, until he made a promise he couldn't keep. He told everyone he had a lead and promised the Rat's head. This was just what they needed. From Day 1 the entire Unit has kept their eyes on each other hoping to see someone slip. Barrigan took a gamble, but it didn't pay off. Now it's his head, and the Rat he promised is still out there...
