Don't know with 100% certainty, but I'm 95% certain it's a simple matter of storage space. We've outstripped the storage capacity of the server, and with CC losing money, there's no way anyone's upgrading the server any more. Remember a couple weeks ago when we lost half a day's data in all the games? That was a simple matter of no more room on the server. Since the game matters and the forums are a frill, the forums are being trimmed to make sure the game, at least, remains viable.

Seems that way. I wish they would have told me in advance. I realise 99% of it was garbage, but there were some really great threads that I would have liked to save if I'd had the chance. All in all, a sad day for CC.
