I'm not even sure what role I gave derf off the top of my head, but the point is that he isn't contributing anything useful. Unless because this is set in an asylum he thinks it's fun to ack like an idiot...who knows.

I'll have to figure out what I made him and possibly think of finding a replacement if this is all he's going to do.

You should keep a record of who's who. I almost messed up in Simpsons by not keeping a record of roles until Day 2. The Janitor helped a lot, though.

Anyways, I think he's a jester and he's bad at it. Voting random would be a good way to try and get himself lynched without being conspicuous.

Sure, there's been instances where mafia have voted for each other, but they were just low-mafias. With the random vote, they could take out the godfather, and do they really want that?

This is a great point. We can't know for sure, but it would seem that those who voted for random are most likely townies, players who just don't care, or players who just aren't very smart or thought it through carefully.
